Swept.  At Home.  By the Cubs.  With Oswalt, Clemens, and Pettitte.

Have not won a home series since May.

I get to attend the OU/UT game in person this year.  I won't be busy this time.

Except for the two in June, the one in July and the one in August.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

I think this'll be the first year I don't make it to one single game, since about 1995. Why do I not feel like I'm missing something?

Maybe he meant they have not had a winning record on any homestand since May???

If that is true, how sad.

Maybe he meant major league series.

Additionally, how many CGL's is that for the pitching staff now?

To clarify: I thought I hear Dave say homestand, not series.  My mistake.

Teams with more losses than the Houston Astros since May 4:

Kansas City Royals

That's it.

We have NOT in fact had a winning homestand since that two game quickie against the Cards in the first week in May, meaning that we haven't had a winning homestand with more than two wins since April... APRIL!!!

(we went 5-5 in early June vs. Cincy, Chi, and Atl in town)

There is no escaping the fact that this is a bad baseball team.

Incredibly (and even more painfully, IMHO), this does not preclude aspirations of making the playoffs.

I share your nausea.........

This has to be the worst 5 game stretch I have ever witnessed.

Lead off baseman stranded....

Lead off doubles turning into nothing...

Botched squeeze plays on pitchouts...

Pathetic swings of the bat....

Wasted starting and relief pitching...

A 5 game losing streak near cruchtime...

Roy O dinged up....

Blown save....

I usually don't follow the NFL until November but I don't know if I can take this anymore...

This team is on life support....

Go 'Stros !
Playoffs...Did you say playoffs !

And a notable lack of clutch hitting. Didn't the team recently have someone who was good at that? Maybe around six or so games ago?

With Oswalt, Clemens, and Pettitte.

Can anyone figure if these three have ever gotten three straight wins when they go in order (any order)?  Or how many times the team has won three straight with them on the mound (regardless of who got the W)?

This seems to strike a chord with me.  I'm sure this was discussed in the TV booth a little while ago.  The answer was almost never and certainly not in living memory.

A bit like the weird stat that France's supreme, long-term  play-maker, Zinedine Zidane, had never laid on a goal for France's supreme, long-term goal-scorer, Thierry Henry.  I think they finally managed to hook up (NTTAWWT) during the World Cup.  Between headbutts.

Actually, I found a case of it happening.  Oswalt, Clemens, and Pettitte got wins in consecutive games allllllllllllllllll the way back in last week.

No shit.

Also happened twice in July of '05.

But I get your point.  Sure seems like it would happen more than 3 times in two seasons.

Yep - last week was staring me in the face when I started poking around for some stats.  Where did you get the '05 info?  I'd like to peruse that and previous years, if possible.
