5/9 Dodgers take game 1, 12-7

After Jason Lane followed Morgan Ensberg?s homerun with one of his own Bill Brown declared this game ?a Trojan night?.   Turned out there was no protection for nobody.

Pettitte looked terrible.  The Dodger pitcher Jae Seo has a pause in his delivery which he probably imagines throws off the hitters? timing.   Once the Astros found their sun dial and began to time him, they ripped him.  Combined with the game of statue that all the Dodger batters play, Garciaparra in full Tourette?s twitch, the beach balls on the field every other pitch, this game lasted forever.

In spite of the glacial pace, there was some good defensive plays.  Everett showed off by throwing out Furcal from the hole, almost in the outfield.  He also made a heads up play in the 8th to nail Lofton trying to take one too many bases on a bloop to left.

The game was tied 6-6 until the 8th, then a slobbaknocka broke out.   With one out, runner on 2nd,  Lane got caught in between on a one hop liner.  The ball got into him and he had to shuffle a bit to get into position for a throw, the catcher Martin scored from 2nd.   Gallo, Wheeler, and Borkowski couldn?t stop the 6 run inning.

Tomorrow, Taylor Buchholz tries to speed up this ice wagon vs. Brett Tomko.  9:10 Central.  Good luck, the Dodgers apparently have a special promotion planned for sometime in the near future, a sleep over in the ball park.  Seems appropriate.
