JR House Question
« on: April 17, 2006, 02:43:12 pm »
He appears to be tearing it up at Corpus.  Is this because he is much older and more advanced then the typical AA pitcher or are these numbers "real?"  And is Corpus a hitters' park?  I'm just wondering if House is viewed as the potential replacement for Ausmus?

The man has always been able to hit. What the man hasn't been able to do is stay healthy.

As I understand it, the wind can sometimes aid fly balls hit to left at Whataburger Field. But as far as it overall being a hitters park, it would be hard to argue that given the fact that the CC pitching staff led the Texas League in ERA last season by a fairly wide margin.

For a guy who sat out all last year and given that we're barely a week and a half into this season, that seems awfully premature to even be speculating about that.

I don't know about him being a replacement for Ausmus but at the Spring training game I attended he was the only player to sign autographs. Very personable, quite fan friendly. I hope he kicks ass.
