4/13 Garciaparra (strained muscle, right side) is still taking treatment and hasn't done any baseball activity beyond swinging a bat without striking a ball. Although he still has five days, (on the DL) that isn't much time because he still has several steps to get through before returning.
"Once I start to take BP and all that stuff, I don't think it will be long," he said.

Rondell White
White suffered through another 0-for-4 game Thursday. The everyday cleanup hitter and designated hitter, White is batting .088. That's three hits in 34 at-bats. He has no homers and two RBIs.   He admits struggling to adjust to the DH role. And the tough start is beginning to wear on him.
"I'm cool," he said Thursday after the Twins' 8-2 victory over Oakland. "But it's frustrating. I'm tired of making that left-hand turn."

Good point.  Be careful what you wish for....you just might get it.

(Sarcasm) It really sucks that we got stuck with this Preston Wilson bum. Come on, only 4 homeruns and stellar defense.  We could've gotten someone better this offseason. (Sarcasm)

I think we get into trouble second guessing who the Astros should sign.  Who knows, White might be doing alright if he was playing the field.  But Wilson sure has worked out so far, despite not being a "name".  On the other hand, who's surprised that Garciaparra is on the DL?

I love the Wilson signing because it's a great deal ($4 m., one year).  I wouldn't touch Nomah - he's too injury prone and can no longer play SS.  We don't need a 3b, and playing him at 1b makes no sense.

I think Ron-DL will hit and is a good player IF healthy.  I'm not sure of the terms of his contract with Detroit.

White's with the Twins, not Detroit.

So far, Wilson has been everything the Astros could hope for.  But don't got making comments that will stir the BBGs because it's still really fucking early in the season.
