I'm surprised at this.  Shows how desperate the 3rds must be for starting pitching.  The one-year deal is clearly an indication that they're not totally sold on Ponson.  Maybe if he can keep it between the dotted lines for a year...

when i cant sleep at night i listen to the radio. last night i was listenting to kmox out of the stl and the sports casters was appealing to santa to bring the coards a new bat that would hit 35 or more home runs a season. now that is desperate

Right.  Cause everyone knows the Astros are first on Santa's list.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
