He seemed to know what he was doing until we lost in the World Series.  Now, apparently, he's an idiot.

He took us to the series for the first time ever and all he got was a 1 year extension!?!  Yikes!  It's a good move, especially since the team will be quite different next year and he may have a more difficult time having to coach the younger kids

What makes you think the team will be quite different next year?  Were I you, I'd prepare myself for a strikingly similar team on Opening Day 2006, accompanied by the obligatory "Tim Purpura is an idiot because he didn't do jack shit during the offseason" headline stories from your local news provider.

I would have to say that not only did he do a good job "coaching the younger kids" this year but also coaching the "old farts" also!!!

I don't get any of the criticism Garner gets.  Just look at what the team has done on his watch.  Manager for Life would be fine by me.

The kids really struggled this year: Taveras, Lane, Burke and Bruntlett all sucked balls.  Clearly.
