The Link

I didn't realize the rest of the baseball world felt the same way about McCarver but here is a story to prove it.

I mentioned this a few days ago, but I still remember McCarver jumping on Alan Ashby in the 86 LCS for demonstrating a pitching mechanic to the hurler.

It may have been the same game, but later Ashby popped a foul ball that landed in some additional seating near the field the Mets brought in for the series.  Ashby then hit a homer, and McCarver went on and on about what a shame it would be if the outcome of the game were decided by those additional seats.

I've pretty much despised him since then.  Of course, the fact that he was a Met broadcaster means that he was/is pure evil and remains worthy of my contempt.

My complaint was mentioned in the article and its the same problem I have with John Madden in football games....please shut up. You don't have to fill every second with some comment. Let us watch the freaking game for a minute without the sound of your voice.

He personifies the aphorism that a statement of the obvious is a crutch of the inept.

McCarver is an inept crotch.  Perfect!

Mute is the answer!
Quote from: NYT
On the Web ... is a recording of what she describes as her latest track, “What We Want,” a hip-hop-inflected rhythm-and-blues tune that asks, "Can you handle me, boy?" and uses some dated slang, calling someone her "boo."
