In Roy We Trust
« on: October 19, 2005, 01:13:10 am »
Best case scenario if I had to chose.  Roy IS the ace. AND. This is the  Wizard in his prime. Period.  That cannot be understated. Take nothing from what Andy and Roger mean to this team.  Those two bring the intangables, the confidence, the been there,  that give us our heart.

Roy brings the swagger.  The I don't give a rat's bee-hind. The ice water, the Mississippi red neck scarriness.  The I'd just as soon be working on my truck as striking out Poo-who with runners on.  We are fortunate and blessed to send Oswalt to the mound.  He's a product of the organization that we are all so proud of.

Feeling good feels good tonight.  Thank you Roy.

FUCK. I can't wait for tomorrow!

I'll say it again.

Roy better go 4 for 4.

It AIN'T the pitching that worries me.

Well, nothing.  I'd rather see him off the bases, resting in the dugout while Mo and Lance do what they're paid to do.

My dream is to see someone in the "meat" (hahahahaha) of our lineup drive in a runner from scoring position again before college basketball season.

4 for 4 may be a stretch.  But when it matters, he'll get it done.  Morgan is the one who needs the big hit.

All I can say is jason lane.  Looked awful all series,  then game 3, single against morris was ugly, but I was pleasantly surpised

Look, what I'd REALLY like to see is a real life offensive explosion.  NLDS-Game-One-style.

Not likely against Mulder, but a girl can dream.

I'd like to see us get 3 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd.  Sit back and watch Roy fall asleep and let the Cards back into it, but keep us ahead long enough to nail it down.

I don't think I can overstate how little I want to see a Game Seven.  I will actually vomit major organs tomorrow night if we lose.

If that's the case, you will not be alone.

As for Jason Lane.  He has been using every tool he has to make something positive happen for this team.  I thought he was a HR or nothing type, but he has shown a real Scrap Iron, no holds barred, mentality in his base running that has parlaid in runs scored in this series.  Once again, home grown and making an impact.

that is a good statement, homegrown.  I wonder why the guys always say they are a tight group, it is actually really awesome to see that each guy is pulling for the other, I mean after the burke HR, ensberg seemed positively pumped for Burke.  Burke didn't even think for a moment that he was the hero of the game...  and hearing the comments from the clubhouse, noone is taking lidge as the bill buckner moment.  Lidge himself didn't sound like woe is me.  that is why I feel good, and that is why purpura did the right thing in not doing anything.

Interesting that the Cardinals invented the farm team, and are about to be eaten by ours.

See this is what I don't get.  Why do we get this emotionally involved in a GAME?  To the point of feeling physically ill (last night for example).  I am not excluding myself here.  I do it to.

Postings have been all over the spectrum last 24 hours.  Some are cautiously optomistic, some seem suicidal.  Talked to the wife about it tonight.  The outcome won't affect our incomes (unless you bet baseball), it won't change our daily routines (other than waiting on ST).  I find myself unable to concentrate on regular tasks without replaying key game situations in my head.  I find myself reading Jake forums with intense interest in knowing what they are thinking.  It's all insanity.

Will my life be more complete if the Astros go to the WS?

I hope that the Jakes get their ASS handed to them on a plate so I can find out.

Just had to get that out of my system.

Lol I thought someone was calling me out.

Roy has a killer instinct few in baseball have - I'm not worried at all - there's a reason he's nails in October.

I think you're not alone in that. If we lose Wednesday, this board could probably become a primary supplier to wegotussomemedicalwaste.com.

there is something to be said about stomping the life out of the cubs, braves, mets, and coards.  no there is nothing really more satisfying to life.

Then keep me in mind. I'm afraid if the Astros don't win tonight, I'll wind up Thursday morning in the gutter of some back alley on the wrong side of town, needing at least a liver transplant.
