Thomas Boswell has a few thoughts about Lagenius and Garner.
It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of 'em was one kinda sombitch or another.

writers need to quit putting words in peoples mouths.

"because of the success he's had against Houston and especially in that [small] ballpark. "

and

"Houston's park is a cheap-homer haven."

The writer is as much a tool as the manager he's trying to crucify.
Here are just a few of the key ingredients: dynamite, pole vaulting, laughing gas, choppers - can you see how incredible this is going to be?

The Astros' manager began his news conference before Game 2 of the National League Championship Series by wishing Happy Birthday to the Navy on its 230th birthday. Oh, and the Marines, too. While La Russa is working on his Cardinals lineup, "Scrap Iron" is figuring out what to give the Navy for its birthday.

God bless you, Scraps.  As a Navy man and an Astro fan, I have much to thank you for.  I think an Astro victory was the perfect gift.

Delightful: Busch is a more offense-friendly park (#12, 1.028) than MMPUS (#23, 0.949).  Ooops, that fact might spoil the rant.  Can't get in the way of a good "cheap homer" diatribe.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy
