Postseason Sched???
« on: October 02, 2005, 06:29:01 pm »
I'm so glad MLB is up on this shit.  Some of us have sick days to use and hotels to get.

Anyone know when the hell we're playing this week?

Me, too.  I'll be in Mexico from Tues to Tues and I need to set my DVR if I can.  Here's hoping this stuff gets televised in Puerto Vallarta....

Bank on afternoons, obviously.  NYY has already been given prime time on Tues, and also plays Weds.  Game #1 of the 3rds series is at 1.00pm Eastern - think about that, they're playing the Pads, it'll be 10am in SoCal.

Our Game #1 is on ESPN (note to self: buy the HD stream for ESPN, cancel after playoffs over) and Game #5 is on Big Fox.

Expect the Astros to be scattered all over the dial/clock.  But remember this, it doesn't matter because our home games are at Fort Minute Maid and there'll be 45k+ screaming blud'n'mudders.  The Ted will be a mid-day, mid-week graveyard.

Well, that's nice and all, but I seriously have a week full of shit to schedule around this.

I don't mean "watching TV" I mean getting out of work, boarding the dog, getting hotels in various Texas cities, when to be on the road, when not to, that sort of shit.

I hope you're right about day games.  We need to be the 3pm game on Thursday so I don't have to watch Game Two in a Motel 6 in Fort Stockton.

The dreaded "TBD" has been appended to timeslots for the Astros/Braves.

Gawd, I hate the Yankees!

Huh, Yahoo has both the Yankee game and our game as being at 8:05pm ET on FOX.

Surely Fox wouldn't miss a chance to put Astros/Braves on prime time? Or it could just be a mistake.

mlb.com agrees with the first post.  4pm eastern.

I'll go with mlb.  Not sure why, but I will.

I got what I really needed, which is...will I be watching on a bigscreen in my living room or on a 19" tv in a Motel6 in Fort Stockton.

Looks like Motel6.  Yippee.

Why don't you just leave Friday morning and drive it in one shot?  It's a suck drive, but with caffeine/nicotine or whatever gets ya going, it can be done.

If it were just me and Laura, fine.  But we've got a 2 year old who doesn't do well (carsickness) on long drives.

I understand that.  Last time I made the drive, I took my 3yr old.  One shot one direction, motel in Sedona on the return trip.

The last time I took my son (then 4) to an Astros game (in ST) we went to see Clemens pitch, he (my son, not the Rocket) threw up in the 2nd inning and we had to go home.  Hoping to go to ATL Wed. - no kids invited.

NICE!

I can watch both games, since I get out of work at three for the next few weeks (supporting a first shift research project at a manufacturing plant!).

Lucky me!

This appears to be the concensus; Yahoo had it wrong.  Good for me as I may be flying to NYC on Thursday, and should be able to catch most of the game once I get there.

Who pitches for the Astros in the Thursday night prime time game...?

Sorry,  I was being facetious.  It's notable that the only prime time playoff game enjoyed by the Astros in living memory is being pitched by Clemens.
