While Kemp was batting in the top of the 2nd, one of the Rockies announcers observed that the Astros are 17-4 w/ Kemp starting in LF.

Another interesting - possibly Kemp-related stat - would be the significant improvement of Gattis's stats since Kemp's call up.  Those were highlighted by opposing announcers a week or so ago.
Nothing worthwhile comes without pain, ask any Astros fan.

Anderson wanted no part of Bregman. GIDP finishes that off quickly, though.
He breezed him, one more time!

I heard earlier on the Indians broadcast that a Cleveland home improvement firm has a thing going where if the Indians win 16-games in a row after August 1st whatever project you hire them for is free, and I thought, That can’t be THAT much more likely than the Astros winnning the Series again, can it? I wonder what the numbers show.

I do not share Hudson's enthusiasm for having Astros picked off on the bases.

This is the year 2018. Just stand there you fucking flea and let some great big cocksucker hit the ball out the goddamn ballpark.

I know this will be heresy to some on here, and it would have been for me too years ago, but now I fucking hate watching pitchers hit. It pisses me off to even see a pitcher with a bat in his hands. I guess I’ve converted since the Astros moved to the AL. As far as I’m concerned, the DH in the NL can’t come soon enough.

Altuve is swinging the bat more like Tim Bogar than the reigning MVP currently.

It's the traditional end-of-July/beginning-of-August Astro slowdown.

Anything besides hunting foul with 2 strikes.

Yeah he should have watched the ball not the birds. Or maybe he thought he’d have an easier time hitting them than the pitch.

To quote Blummer:
"That escalated quickly."

Good outing from Cole.

And better late than never from the bats.

I was prepared to be very bitter after they tied it.

(that fan was leaning way over)

He caught it well above the fence.

If Tucker gets going, one problem sort of solved, but he takes ABs from Kemp.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

He and Kemp would also be taking bats from Gattis.  At the moment, that is a good thing.

That (chants from opposing fans) always makes me feel awkward. I hate it when visiting fans get up to that shit.

Another pov: While living in Ft. Lauderdale, I attended a Cubs-Marlins game w/ my nephew who is a rabid Cubs fan from Mississipppi.  As the cubbies trailed around the 7th inning, a whisper of a chant started way down the 3B line.  By the time it reached us, it was stronger,

"Let's go, Cubs!".

Apparently the cubbies heard it also, as they won the game - just like last night - with a late rally.

That happened well over a decade ago, but I marveled at the intensity and was jealous of the reach of Cubs fever.  I still marvel at it, and never dreamed I would see it in opposing stadiums for the Astros, like last night.....
