Gary Sanchez

His lack of hustle cost NYY a game last night. He went on the DL today because “an MRI revealed an injury.”

Bull.shit.

I tend to agree. He kind of has a history of loafing it.

I'm sure the DL stint has nothing to do with lack of effort or his .188/.283/.416 slash line. Nothing whatsoever.

He had just returned from a 4-week stint on the DL for the same injury he sustained trying to beat out on infield hit.  It's possible he re-injured it in his third game back.  And it's possible the Yankees are lying and don't really want him in their lineup.  But if it was about his lack of production, I'd wonder why they re-activated him just a few days ago.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The first thing I thought when I saw the clips was "That's a guy that's hurt and trying to play through it." Even when he kicked it in to "high gear" trying to beat out the grounder, he still was moving only slightly faster than a glacier.

Lollygagging the passed ball and letting the runner score from 2B was every bit as bad as his lollygagging in the 9th.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Or, the guy has a serious injury and can barely fucking run. But hey, whatever fits your narrative.

Speculation from the Yankees training staff is that he'll be on the DL until late August/early September.

I saw both plays. That dude shouldn't have been out there. He was moving very poorly.

I trust your judgment. I did not see the play.
