Fascinating look at Reddick's career-long struggles in the clutch:

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Do we believe in choking?

Nope

I believe it happens, it's just very, very rare to see on the pro stage.  Nick Anderson is the most prominent one I witnessed, and I'm sure there's something from the world of golf too.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I loved the way Jean triumphantly raised his arms when he made the quadruple-bogey putt to get in the playoff.

More importantly, Reddick displays the utmost respect of the BBGs, as demonstrated in his post game clubhouse interview.

I love that he tipped his cap to Joyce when Joyce robbed him of the HR in the bottom of the first.

i was skeptical when they first signed Reddick, I always thought he was pretty good but that contract was quite a commitment too. Now I am so glad they did. He is a large contributor to the team's success. I like his "old school grit" too. Plays the game right. Doesn't give in. Does play like Biggio in that sense.

With the exception of a handful more extra base hits and a few less walks, Reddick has had an almost identical first 66-68 games as he did for Oakland in 2016 before the trade to LA. Who knows what went wrong in LA but I don't see any reason to think he'll drop off this season. He's been fun to watch.

I love all the veteran additions, but he's surprised me the most by far.

He's a lot of fun to watch play. Hitting, baserunning, defense, dugout/clubhouse antics, he does it all.

Reddick is way, way better than I thought he was.

Plus, he has a smart, smart baseball mind:

""I don't want to brag or be too confident because I don't want to flip the script and have the baseball gods come down on me." -- Reddick, who's hitting .538 with four doubles, a triple, two homers, eight RBIs and 12 runs scored since being activated from the DL on June 20"

The veterans are playing a key role.  I think one of the significant differences between 2016 Cubs and 2017 Cubs are the lack of David Ross and Dexter Fowler and the leadership provided (and Fowler's defense).  The loss/addition of intangibles are hard to quantify and are rarely noticed until things change.
