Fantastic 15 or 16 pitch at bat by Lindor, even better result.

Gomez is playing like he doesn't want to sign a big multi-year contract.

Why were they talking about ground rules when they came back from commercial? I left the room for a bit.

What happened, I switched over to the Spurs/Thunder and missed it.

A look of disbelief and reaction when he thought he should have had a called strike three, clearly outside. I have the sound down but the view was easy to interpret.

Yeah, he turned around and started doing his "I'm so cool" strut off the back of the mound before blue even made the call, and then turned around in disbelief and shock. Then he struck out the batter on the next pitch (curveball) and shook his head and did his strut again. Fuck you, kid, you're not Greg Maddux.

Amidst all the other suck on the team, Fields has had a quietly shitty season.

What do you think of this offense's execution?
I'm in favor of it.

Stassi in to catch Feliz for the 9th, or as its commonly known, "throwing in the towel".

With McCullers coming back they will need a spot. Fields days are probably done here.

I see plenty of Bauer up here. He's his own worst enemy out on the hill. He literally falls to pieces if someone makes an error or if he's not getting his calls. You can get into his head easily and live rent-free.

One of my favorite John McKay one liners.  Along with "we didn't tackle well today, but we made up for it by not blocking."  The latter is too often analogous with this team as well.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

McKay and Abe Lemons were my favorite quipsters among coaches. I remember Lemons was asked about John Thompson's "coddling" of Patrick Ewing as a freshman at Georgetown. He said that when he was Ewings' age he was sitting in a foxhole in WWII. He remembered thinking "it could be worse. I could be playing college basketball".  I think Guy V. had some good ones, too.

McKay was once asked if he'd ever seen anything as "gutty" as the day's 27-yard game winning field goal.  He replied:

"No, I've never seen anything that gutty. Oh, once in World War II, I saw a guy pull nine people out of a burning airplane. Besides that, Cepece's kick was the most courageous thing I've ever seen."

Sounds like we could trade Gomez for him and come out better.
