Astros place Chad Qualls on DL w/ pinched nerve in his neck & call up Jon Singleton who leads Pacific Coast League home runs(17) & RBIs(66)

Whiplash from all the homers he's served up?

Is this the end for Qualls?

Who gets the axe when Marisnick comes back? Does Santana get sent down or is this the end for Carter too?

I find it odd that they would give Carter a day off and then call Singleton up the next day.

No. Santana. I don't know.

Those questions are like the end to a batman episode.

The fact that it was Singleton and not another reliever is interesting, but I can't imagine Carter getting the axe unless Singleton absolutely catches fire.

They've been carrying an extra reliever all season.  No surprise really that it's a position player, especially considering he plays a position that is really struggling right now.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Although I may have missed something, all I know about Singleton since being sent to AAA is that hit and earned his way back without complaint.  Good for him.

This.

I mean, most teams might carry more than one backup SS, but who needs that when you have 3 1B/DH only guys right?
