Carter, who came into today's tilt hitting a paltry .118, found a way to get on base: HBP.

He'll yeah. Straightaway center n Oakland, after a nice defensive play to end the inning.  Villar has been a bright spot this year.

That's an impressive shot.

One ugly slide by Carter but props to him and Dominguez for producing a quick run.

I'm trying to think of a player who swings as aggressively as Swinger on all cuts. I wonder if that ever changes?

Hunter Pence?

Yeah, Pence was that way, but he often realized mid-swing that the slider was outside in the dirt and backed off his swing.

Villar is a one-man wrecking crew this game. A ball off the wall for a double, steals third and scores on the errant throw.

Pitch count chases Oberholtzer, but Bass comes in and quells the rally. 3-1 Top 7

Obie didn't have his good stuff today, but he battled. I know some don't believe in intangibles, but Obie seems to really be more than the sum of his parts.

Nice job by Bass. Not so much by the home plate ump.

Qualls on to pitch the ninth to close it out. I question this choice.

Tied up now. A's with the winning run at 3B. Thanks, Porter, you fucking moron. You don't send a guy who hasn't pitched in eight days out to try to save a game. What a fucking douche bag.

Time to put on my "This team makes me drink" shirt.

I would have guessed lower, I try not too look at the numbers too closely.  Today I should have a shirt that says 'This team makes me eat chocolate eggs'.

So, is this bullpen really better than last year? It should be.
