I love "The Core".
Johnny and Edgar Winter are a half-generation ahead of me, but they grew up one street over from where I did, and their parents continued to live there well into the 1980s, at least. When we were kids, one or both of the brothers would sometimes come home to visit, and news of it would spread through the neighborhood like
wildfire.
Before you knew it, there'd be 15-20 kids milling around on the street in front of the Winter's house, acting all nonchalant and everything. I remember Edgar coming out at least once - he borrowed one kid's skateboard and hung around awhile with us. Johnny came out more than once. I remember talking to him about his 'Stones covers (I love "Let It Bleed", but my favorite was "Stray Cat Blues").
