Friday Rock n' Roll Thread

For some reason this just sounded like a Friday afternoon...

Johnny Winter from 1973

My favorite Johnny Winter album. I listen to that at least once a month.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

Heard this on the way home. For me, it's pretty much the post-Layla high point.
I'm in love with rock and roll and I'll be out all night.

I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Dude. Further on up the road. Or maybe Key to the Highway

Key to the Highway is on Layla. Post-Layla Clapton is a dead zone for me.

I love "The Core".

Johnny and Edgar Winter are a half-generation ahead of me, but they grew up one street over from where I did, and their parents continued to live there well into the 1980s, at least.  When we were kids, one or both of the brothers would sometimes come home to visit, and news of it would spread through the neighborhood like wildfire.

Before you knew it, there'd be 15-20 kids milling around on the street in front of the Winter's house, acting all nonchalant and everything.  I remember Edgar coming out at least once - he borrowed one kid's skateboard and hung around awhile with us.  Johnny came out more than once. I remember talking to him about his 'Stones covers (I love "Let It Bleed", but my favorite was "Stray Cat Blues").

Also talked briefly about my favorite Johnny Winter song of all.

I love Clapton, I have a lot of post Layla highlights but this is tops. Eric with Jeff and Doyle II. BTW what kind of guitar is that they're playing?
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Clapton is coming thru here in March. Anybody heard what is playlist will be like? I'm sorry I missed the tour a few years ago when he did alot of Dominos stuff. The Winwood pairing would have been great too. Like Ron Brand I don't care much for the post-Dominos pop-tinged stuff.

I looked up on setlist.fm and found some 2011 shows, but nothing new. Back then he was playing:

Key to the Highway
Tell the Truth
Hoochie Coochie Man
Old Love
I Shot the Sheriff
Driftin' Blues
Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out
Lay Down Sally
When Somebody Thinks You're Wonderful
Layla
Badge
Wonderful Tonight
Before You Accuse Me
Little Queen of Spades
Cocaine
Encore: Crossroads

Looks like torture to me. Enjoy.
