So this Te'o thing.

Holy shit!

http://deadspin.com/5976517/manti-teos-dead-girlfriend-the-most-heartbreaking-and-inspirational-story-of-the-college-football-season-is-a-hoax

So... best case scenario, Te'o is a rube and was completely fooled for over a year by an internet girlfriend that didn't exist, realized how weird it was, and made up stories about actually meeting her, and the whole thing spiraled out of control.

Worst case scenario, this was all a cynical hoax perpetrated by Te'o to pull heartstrings and drum up Heisman coverage.

Most heartbreaking scenario, he is in the closet and invented the girlfriend to keep his conservative Samoan Mormon family at bay and the whole thing just got out of hand.

Craziest scenario, the heartbreaking one with an extra twist:  He comes out as gay, becomes the first openly gay athlete to be drafted and play for a major sports league, is a hero to all, but actually being gay is just a hoax to garner more publicity and endorsements and is exposed having a long-term heterosexual affair and is publicly shamed for being straight.

It's been fairly well established the last five years that Hawaii itself is a hoax.

To quote someone: "dude...that's fucked up"
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Wow, that was kind of hard to follow. Still, not very clear on who is doing what and why, except that Te'o must not be too bright.

Or more likely...he's lying. Part of the story is that they met on the Stanford campus 3 years ago.  T'eo's father has claimed that he and his wife have met the girl multiple times in Hawaii when she came to visit Manti.  Now supposedly, contact has only ever happened online?  He didn't go to the gravesite during ND's bye week?

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

New Notre Dame fight song...

She also was involved in a near-fatal car crash.  A Smiths theme is becoming apparent.
