Guthtie has a 9 plus era at home. I am looking for my boys Bogusevic and Castro to tear it up.

Tonight's soundtrack is Bob Mould's first solo appearance at Liberty Lunch after letting us all know he was moving to NYC.

The medley of Explode and Make Up / Hardly Getting Over It / Poison Years on 12-string acoustic is particularly apropos.

Yeah. That altitude and that ballpark are just too much. The only hope is that their staff is as bad as they have been earlier.

That is our only hope, and JD goes yard to narrow the margin to four.

Could Mills call Bogey in to face a left handed hitter and then put him back in RF after?

But I'm not sure he can bring him in to pitch to another batter after that. Maybe we'll find out tonight.

Yeah I thought he could definitely do it once but I wasn't sure on if that was it. I'm gonna say he can only face one.

I'll have to check the rule book, but I think that he can only pitch once in a game.

He lives in San Francisco now, you know. I have no idea how much he makes as a musician but he has made a fucking fortune in real estate over the years in Austin, NYC and DC.

I cannot believe it took until the end of May for JD and Brownie to haul out the Beverly Hillbillies reference.

I think I remember a Cubs(?) reliever being put in LF for one batter then brought back to the mound sometime last season. Would that be the same basic situation?

The comment to Rule 3.03 says that you can do that, i.e., put a pitcher into a position and bring him back, but only once in an inning. HEre's the official comment:

A pitcher may change to another position only once during the same inning; e.g. the pitcher will not be allowed to assume a position other than a pitcher more than once in the same inning.

You are probably right, I just remember he was in left.  Was it against the Astros?

No. He was an Astro Phillie but it was against the Astros on August 24, 2010. That's where I remembered it from. I just had it bass ackwards.
