For those who begrudgingly and belatedly embraced WAR...
« on: May 09, 2012, 12:12:01 pm »
I have bad news. Changes have been made to the formula. To the old WAR, I say "What is it good for -- absolutely nothing."

Would you be mocking the Baseball Reference version of WAR or the Fangraphs version of WAR.  They are different ya know.... [/OSF-WAR-mocking]

In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

Not mocking as much as taking advantage of an opportunity to insert song lyrics.

This is known as the Two WARs Doctrine.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

I was doing the mocking... Appreciated the song lyrics!

Sort of like the AP and Coaches poll.  It's clear we need a BCS version of WAR.
The test of a true champion is how he reacts to adversity on days when it is bound to come.
