Exhibition Game Tonight!

Me and about 20 others went. They were not so bad that it hurt. Center field was played well. Myers sucks as a closer.

How was Myers' velocity tonight? I am doubtful that he's got enough heat to be a closer. He'll be a Lyon type closer.

I wasn't watching the speed, but ihe wasn't overpowering anybody.

I didn't watch him last night, but saw him earlier in spring training.  He was low 90s and looked pretty sharp to me.  The sharpness was mainly his trademark breaking stuff, not his velocity.  Made me warm a bit to the idea of him as a closer.  I'd think his upside is greater than Lyon.

Hope you're right.  I had the sense last night that a lot of the breaking stuff was slightly off.

By my count there were 15 blown saves out of the Houston bullpen last year.  They're not going to live and die, but saves matter.

If we win only half of those, the win total jumps to 64, which is still shitty but is a lot better than dropping 106 and finishing 40 games back.

Hopefully he can make it to June and the Astros can trade him off for some bags of sunflower seeds and he becomes some other teams problem.
