I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

A highlight for me during ST are Coach's news bits based upon his observations and the information from his scout friend. Bring 'em on!

Me, too. Though I'm bummed that we don't have any eye-witness account from Astros ST this year, yet at least. Ty, are you going?

I predict that Chuck will return to ST next year. He just wanted to put off his scent from his stalker.

She emailed me last night breathlessly telling me what a great game she'd seen, a three-run walk-off in extra innings. Hang on...

Quote
You missed the BEST Astros spring training game ever!!!!!  It spoke the words as everyone was leaving during the 7th, 9th and 10th and said, I want a three run walkoff homerun!!!!  The guys were making fun of me, Philly fans cussing me, I caught all the balls over the duggout and didn't give any to them, etc....and guess what---they all high fived me when we got the walk off three run homerun at the bottom of the 10th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got three balls-they were crying and cussing at the guys!!!  Too bad, I use them to auction for my charity and also for Colt, etc and give to my niece and nephew-I don't need to give them to Phillies fans!!!  YEAH!!!!  I got a great tan and had a blast!!!

I felt energy from the veterans on the team as well as the new guys throughout.  It was definitely one of the most competitive spring training games that I have ever seen--doesn't usually happen.  The boyz had FIRE today!!!!

This may give you some idea of the kettle of crazy bubbling down there.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The only thing I remember about her is the wincing expression on your face the entire time she spoke. That, and you graciously picking up her crawfish tab.

Me, too. Though I'm bummed that we don't have any eye-witness account from Astros ST this year, yet at least. Ty, are you going?

I'm essentially on an economic boycott of all things MLB (though I slipped and bought MLB At-Bat 2012) so I don't plan to buy any tickets to any spring training games this year. I did, however, receive a free ticket to the Astros @ Yankees game this Saturday. Expect a nutsy-style recap posted from my phone while blasted to the bejeezus belt at my favorite Irish local.

My Saturday was shaping up to be spectacular.  A.M. beers watching England-Ireland rugby, followed by Wales-France rugby and then rolling straight into St. Paddy's Day.

Then Miss Limey's niece went and turned 1...

I went ahead and got MLB.TV again. I'm not sure what I'll be watching but I thought that for $20 a month or whatever it is it might be nice to have some variety over what's on offer on TV, which is Djankee cada puta noche.

I don't guess Mad Dogs and Englishmen qualifies as Irish.

No, British colonial, but these days it qualifies as South Tampa douchebag hangout. It's kinda sad really.

I think I mentioned Four Green Fields to you guys when you were here but was afraid Limey would not feel comfortable in the decidedly Republican establishment.
