Did you ask Nolan why he was so intent wiping out the Astros' history?
In the back of my mind I wanted to, but when the time came there was no way that was coming out of my mouth.
Ahum, Mr. Umpire... why are you wearing a referee's shirt? (Nice job catching, you look like a true receiver back there!)
I was wondering the same thing. The umpire is the NBHS coach and they were hosting a tournament that day so maybe there wasn't time to get an umpire's shirt? I'm sure he'll catch some shit for that.
Nice job. I'd like to know how that came about.
My understanding is that the NBCVB hired a local marketing agency to help them out with explaining all the new rules for the river. The marketing agency called Nolan's "people" and asked if he'd be willing to appear in a commercial about protecting the local resources and he agreed. My buddy happened to be the producer who shot the commercial and since I'm the biggest baseball fan he knows, he asked if I could take off work for a day to act as a catcher for Nolan Ryan. I promptly replied that I would quit my job if necessary.
Even though I hold him partially responsible for destroying my Astros "fandom", he really seemed like a good, down to earth guy. He drove down himself and hung out for a while after his part in the shoot was complete to take pictures and sign autographs.
