The club cleared some room on the 40 man roster by outrighting Blake King, Xavier Cedeno and Lance Pendleton.

It's a shame that some of our sorry backstops weren't included in that number.

If I have to spell that out, then you haven't been watching the games.

Ok, branching out of the clark thread.
Does anyone see Q as the starter next year?  I haven't seen the "Free Agent catchers" thread yet and don't really think Castro is ready.  Granted, I've never seen him play.  Feel free to tell me I have bad punctuation and whatever.

Unless Castro has lingering issues from the surgery or proves to be overmatched (which he wasn't as a rookie), he'll be in the majors.  The club is already filled with players whose readiness (or ability to stick) is/has been questioned, finding out what they have with Castro isn't going to really change the makeup of the club.

Dig it.  Just didn't know if the injury was going to set him back to where they go after another Pudge type player on a one year deal.

It would be awesome to see a player of Pudge's calibre in an Astros' uni.

Eh?  Oh.

I'm sure that, unless they trade for a better young catcher (as they've tried at least twice to do), they'll play Castro as often as they think his knee can handle. There's no reason not to, at this point.

Oh hell no.  I thought we were done thinking the Astros were one crappy journeyman away from the World Series.

We are one crappy journeyman away from never seeing Towles or Corporan catch again.
