I like the way Sosa looks, good motion, works fast. I don't know how Lopez is still in the majors without being an Astro. He's awful.

I agree. Sosa has to learn to stay away from the plate with that heater though.

Whet are the odds they figure out how to return a kick now that the rules have changed?  They couldn't do it w/o that additional wrinkle last year.

When he opens up he pulls his leg to the left and then he's slinging the ball to the plate. When he's straight in, he's got that good fastball in. He's really inconsistent in this inning for the first time I've noticed.

You're basing this on the first quarter of pre-season with an entirely new defensive scheme?  Hmk.

But seriously, I am not giving them the benefit of the doubt this year.  I'm expecting an 8-8 season.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Just for posterity, one out, Downs on second. Fly out to medium deep center, Downs tags and goes for third. The throw bounces two or three times and still beats him to third by several feet. Ridiculous.

If he doesn't make the team performing like this with Tate continually hurt then I don't know what more he could possibly do.

??? Do you want me to name every player on defense who's out there now who wasn't last year? And talk about how they are better than their predecessors? Because I can. But I expect everyone here who gives a fuck about the Texans will already know all this. The idea of a 3-4 is to have a more athletic group of players on the field and that's what the Texans have tried to do, not just in the backfield but among the LBs as well.

Also - at their respective combines I think Okoye ran a 4.82 40 and Watt ran a 4.84 ("think" is best I can do on blackberry).

Then no. They are not faster than last year. Andy, you are indeed a moron. Sorry.

On that first team defense tonight, the differences are Watt and Manning. Everyone else is the same.

Where's Joseph?

Go check out the glove flip-4-6-3-2 triple play turned by the Brewers tonight

Was it not deflected by the pitcher? Great play either way.

If he doesn't make the team performing like this with Tate continually hurt then I don't know what more he could possibly do.

Wouldn't you rather cut ties with slaton, the proven mediocre entity?  Surely, ogba is at least as productive.

His numbers now are awfully similar to Dave Clark's disaster season

DC 131 AB, .209 BA, .547 OPS
