Your coven's HOA requires it?
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Um, admittedly a hanging curve there from BudGirl...but... in fairness to HH he absolutely crushed that one... Nominated!

The only scientific reason I can think of is if it is a cold winter climate and you want to maximize radiant heat during the winter on a sunny day.

What a geeky answer.

Nothing can top HH's answer...

Be careful look what I did to the astros.

Just seemed strange for a barn to be painted black.

Seems like we are never going to get there. We'll look for it though.

Its probably a building they needs extra warmth, like a place to dry tobacco. Or a smokehouse where they don't want to have to paint over the smoke stains constantly.

Quit trying to make sense.

How about a way to give directions?

Maybe the barn owner is color blind and the contractors got a really good deal on the back paint.

Undervalued response there.
