Sunday Morning Trivia
« on: June 27, 2010, 09:57:45 am »
Mornin' folks.  I gotta tell ya, it's getting harder and harder to come up with a trivia question that's at least somewhat interesting or current w/o being boring.  Or w/o repeating myself (which at some point I know I'm bound to do).  You got a suggestion? Send it to me.  Anyway...

Only 8 players in Astros history have had last names which contained only 3 letters.  Only one of them Larry Ray can be considered obscure.  A Ding! apiece for naminf the other 7.

Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Was Bob Lee an Astro, briefly?

No, but a fellow reliever teammate of his with the Halos was.

Ding!  His HR scored Bob Watson as MLB's 1,000,000th run.

2 more, and OF and a RHP.

Ding!  That's the OF, now we need a 1960's RHP.

His father was a 2-time All-Star and former 22 game winner for the White Sox.

Don Lee.  In 1966 the Astros traded OF Al Spangler to the Angels of RH reliever Don Lee.  He and fellow righty Bob Lee had formed a pretty good duo for the Angels bullpen in 64 and 65.
