2011 draft
« on: August 09, 2010, 11:02:02 am »
Aug 9 and the Astros have the 8th worst record in baseball.  Looking at the standings they seem sure to have somewhere between the 5th and 10th worst record at the end of the season again.  We'll see in a week what that means for their draft position next year.
Goin' for a bus ride.

So, for example:

If Arizona doesn't sign Loux (at the 6th this year), and the Astros have the 7th worst record, does AZ have a supplemental pick stuck at the 6th in 2011, effectively giving the Astros the 8th pick?; or

If AZ has a sup pick as described above, and the Astros finish with the 6th worst record, who picks 6th next year, AZ or Hou?

The D-Backs pick is technically called 6A, so it would really be the 7th pick in the '11 draft.  If we had the 6th-worst record, we would pick 6th; if we had the 7th-worst, we would have the 8th selection.

FYI... Baseball America password glitch is back... blank username and blank password gives you access to subscriber info, for those who would exploit such a thing...
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.
