Hey Houston!
« on: March 11, 2010, 11:21:03 pm »
I'm going to be in your town, yes YOUR town, next Thursday (the 18th).  My band's going to be playing another show at Notsuoh (main near preston) that night, but if you don't want to come out on a school night I'd love to get food or drinks or whatever before hand.

Since I have the 19th off of work, I'll be there.

I couldn't possibly miss it.  See you thursday.

By the way, I've noticed several bands from around the country suddenly dropping in on Austin and Houston this week and next week.  Is there, like, something going on?

What time is everyone meeting?  I'm not a definite, but I'm going to try to make it.

I'll probably head to notsuoH around 10:00.  I assume that's before the show starts.

So how then does Spring Break apply to *you*?
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Where are you staying?  I'm probably going to book a trip down there soon for April.  I'd love to hear your tips since it will be my first time there.

Our main base is in the Playa Del Coco area, which is okay but not spectacular (we have a friend with a house here which is why we ended up here). There are very nice beaches nearby though (northeast pacific side).

We just got back from a two day trip to Arenal, which is the site of the most active volcano and also rainforest area. I would highly recommend spending some time there (you can hike the rainforest, canopy tours, river raft, see the volcano, etc.).

We are here 4 more days so I'll let you know any more impressions. Amazing here in general though.

Sorry I didn't make it.  SPD and a tough day at work meant that I passed out on my couch and didn't come to until the wee hours.

I'm old.

Went to Palo Verde national park today and did a boat ride through it - highly recommend if you are anywhere nearby. We fed capuchins and crocodiles on the river banks and saw ton's of other great stuff. Roads getting there are pretty terrible - if you are going to rent a car I highly recommend springing for the GPS.
