When my wife and I were in lawschool, we lived in a really small apartment in greenwich village (near NYU law school). The building next to us was owned by a couple of artists. Their living room had a complete glass ceiling. It was very cool, but also very exposed as we (as well as a whole lot of other people) could see what they were doing pretty much all of the time. As far as I could tell, my neighbors spent most of their time smoking grass and/or passed out on the couch.
