Found dead. Shot to death.

I normally don't post, but I thought I'd share some breaking news. I really liked his game despite the fact he played for the Titans. RIP.

Came here to post the same thing.

News is spreading by the second on the interweb.  I lived in Nashville for 4 years, making the whole thing is even more shocking.  Terrible, terrible news for that city.  He just opened a restaurant, called Gridiron9, near Tennessee State University in Nashville.  Here's an article from The Tennessean, dated July 29, 2009:

Wow.  Just wow.

Very sad news.

Shockingly sad news.

I was a big fan. This is really depressing.

The detective work on this is certainly being kept under wraps. I won't even begin to try to speculate on how this came about, other than to say we have learned that the woman who died with him wasn't his wife.  This probably gets uglier, I fear.

I talked to the big man on Bourbon Street a couple of years ago.  He was unassuming and friendly to the point of modesty, appreciative of all the kind words being tossed his way.  He never stopped smiling and was more than happy to sign autographs, especially from all the Cougars that were showering him with praise and adoration--it was a car show convention.

Really hated reading about his violent end.  He seemed on a path to try to do some good with his post-playing fame and means.

Murder-suicide by a woman (not his wife) he'd been dating for months? Yikes. Very sad.

This really all makes me just so sad.  I also grieve for his wife who just must be in the worst place imaginable right now.

That is crappy... he seemed like a nice guy from all accounts.

Somewhere I think I still have an "Air McNair" poster that was given away at one of the two Oilers games I ever attended (sponsored by either Southwest or Continental, naturally - can't remember which). They had the core of a very good (but still young) team those last couple of years in Houston; reminds this not-that-big-a-football fan of the early '90s Astros.
