Spinning Cooper
« on: May 23, 2009, 07:02:50 pm »
Footer's newest blog post has Coop sounding very defensive, and implies that he is in fact losing the clubhouse.
Also see Solomon's piece yesterday where he calls Astros players "petty" for questioning Cooper; he even says "As you might imagine, Cooper didn’t like hearing that his players might be expressing themselves anonymously." Geoff Blum wasn't very anonymous or veiled in his comments the other day re. Coop's hiding in the dugout during the lineup card fiasco.

It's interesting to see the local media taking pro-Coop or anti-Coop pro-logic and -sanity stances. Justice has been very vocal about defending Coop, repeatedly pointing out that the Astros won 86 games last year with a bad run differential, so therefore Coop must've been the reason for their success. And Ortiz seems to view Coop's foibles as a good opportunity to stir up trouble.
