I'm hoping there's a whole lot of learning and developing going on after today's game.

"South Central grad Tanner Bushue’s first professional baseball season has come to a premature end this season.  The 6-foot-4 right-hander has been shut down by the Houston Astros organization after being diagnosed with a couple of stress fractures in his spine."

OUCH!!
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Some more info on Tanner Bushue (written prior to being him being shut down):

Tanner's sixth start of the season has been pushed back to at least this Sunday to give his aching back muscles some time to recover. He said his arm feels great, but the lower back pain, which he was told results from tightness and decreased mobility in his left hip joint, prevents him from throwing properly.

He had a bout with this same thing during the high school season, but a trip to the chiropractor quickly relieved the problem. Unfortunately, he said the decision-makers in Kissimmee weren't considering this as an option. He is in the process of doing physical therapy and is impatiently waiting for his next turn on the mound.
In the end, my dissolution with the game of baseball will not be a result of any loss of love for the game, rather from the realization that I can no longer bear the anger its supposed stewards cause to be built up in my soul. -Lee (01/08/2013)

hell, the guy can apparently throw well enough to impress the astros to draft him so high with stress fractures in his spine...imagine how he may be when his back isn't broken :P

Jose Lopez, C played for GCL Astros today.  May seem inconsequential, except that Lopez is recovering from an brain aneurysm that he suffered before spring training.  I saw him play last spring in CC and it is good to see he is healthy let alone able to play baseball.
