Cooper wants to handle pitching staff better
Gives props to the Tanked Commander.
Cooper's problem is eggszactly what he's doing in this article... over thinking and doubting himself waaay too much. He needs to settle down and just go with his decision and then learn from it the right way. Tonight is a good example: Man on first and second, one out and he has Backe bunt (right call), two outs. Michael Bourn looks overmatched and Parra gets him easily. Next time, man on second and first, one out and... he allows Backe to swing away... and he strikes out. Michael Bourn battles until he gets called out on a perfectly placed strike on the corner.
Not going with Backe bunting the next time around shows you that Cooper hangs onto to stuff way too long and doubts himself and then overthinks the situations. Just have Backe bunt and expect your major league hitter do his job.
Cooper is learning as he goes along and it's kind of odd at times, but this sort of doubting and overthinking is getting to be his achilles heel.
