Wandy to the DL
« on: April 20, 2008, 12:31:12 pm »
The early season just got even more frustrating.

Byrdak called up from RR. Cassel to start in the interim.

Lemons and lemonade. Let's hope Cassel can make the most of this opportunity.

What roster move will they make to get Cassel up here?

True. But who do you think it'll be?

No kidding. Wade seems to like to shake up the roster.

Depending how his next start goes (Wednesday?) I wouldn't be completely shocked if they sent Sampson down, then swapped Nieve for a reliever later.

I don't think he had much choice.  Injuries are a bitch and have necessitated the moves they've made to date.  Brydak was called up to help an overworked bullpen and Cassel takes Wandy's spot.   When Cassel comes up, Brydak or some other reliever will get sent down at the risk of being claimed on waivers or that player not accepting their assignment.  I would bet that Brydak is the one sent back down.

i think it depends on how brydak does while up.  being a lefty is a nice benefit for cooper
