Does Pujols look smaller to anyone else? Especially in the face and arms?
enough with the balls, chacon
Larussa is good at the sucking?
no kidding, bases full with free passes, one out
Maybe, but I do know that his pic on mlb gameday looks like he's wearing lipstick.
My new favorite Astro.
Man, that's a bold statement, but I can't say I entirely disagree.
Well, I do reserve the right to change my mind at anytime and any number of times.
Pence is lost.
Carlos Lee. Fat, fat man.
Chacon is in a rocking chair for the last three innings.
i saw carlos lee at the astros caravan and he wasnt nearly as fat as i thought he'd be
Didn't that strategy stop working in little league?
He's got a large mass, but not much of it is fat.
Ankiel was half way when Towles threw down.
The last replay looked like he was only a couple of feet off the bag.
Still at work here in HI. Can someone please give a description of the play where Ankiel was out?
I have it paused right now, and I don't think he's more than 15 feet off of the bag at the point Towles releases the ball, but the angle makes it hard to tell for sure. Even if he were 20 feet down the line, though, it doesn't seem like a smart play to try that unless you have Bourn speed.
So which reporter do you think asked Towles where he would rather hit in the lineup? What insight is there to possibly be gained by that question, other than to maybe make a controversy.
I doubt the FSN folks put that kind of any thought into it.
Good to see Hunter have a successful at-bat.
Even if it resulted from a hanging slider.
Happy, I am not.
On the replay, it looked to me like Towles was far enough in front of the plate that there was plenty of room for Pujols simply to tag the plate, but he went ahead and went after Towles anyway. Did anybody else see it that way, or is my dislike of Pujols coloring my judgement?
Hard to feel too bad about 3-6 when the "World Series-bound" Tigers are 0-7.
I don't know, hard to feel anthing less than bad about 2-3 vs the hated cubs & cardinals.EDIT: oh yeah, we won last night
I had the same thought, and because of my prejudice, give him the benefit of the doubt. Coming down the line, not looking for the ball, he may have just been being prudent. Was there anyone behind the plate signalling for him?
And, it's 2-2 so far.
Sigh...We can still win the series, You can't win them all, It's a long season, The Tigers are 0-7, blah, blah, blahI want to win now!
I intensely hate the guy and thought same thing. But yes, someone (the bat boy?) was telling him to slide.
But if Towles is standing on the infield side of the plate (i.e., not blocking), is there really a reason to take his feet out? I noticed that Towles appeared to give Pujols a "what an asshole" look after the play.
