NYCU: Catchers
« on: January 05, 2008, 09:33:55 am »
We all know Towles is at this point predicted to be the main catcher in Houston in 2008.  But I had heard Ausmus was going to start Opening Day.  Footer says differently,

"Then Wade realized that was no kid -- that was his 2008 Opening Day starting catcher."

Oh yeah, and prav, that quote you listed in the NYCU ... Footer dragged that up from back in October.

"As a receiver, he's very good," Ausmus said. "He's probably one of the better receivers in the league. But just arriving to the big leagues, there's some things he has to learn. It comes with experience, and he doesn't have experience. Hopefully he'll speed up the learning process, in theory, with me around."

You're welcome, I couldn't improve on EasTex's comment regarding Footer's technique.

Wow, I missed that thread first time around.  Great.  As someone from the "pull everything out of the closet and use it" school of written communication, I liked the stuff about using hyphens as well.  Hell, God gave us hyphens, and ellipsis, guillemets, colons, semi-colons, etc., I think we should damn well use 'em. . . Yes.
