Gene Orza, COO of MLBPA,
« on: December 13, 2007, 02:18:10 pm »
is going to have a hard time keeping his job.  He personally warned at least 1 player of an upcoming "random" test in 2004.  Also, during a testing moratorium in 2004 , he delayed notifying players who had tested positive during the 2003 steroid survey.  He did so because MLB and MLBPA had agreed that the moratorium imposed on testing because of the Federal Investigation would continue for those players who had tested positive in 2003 until they were notified of their positive test.  He waited until the 2004 season was almost completed before doing so.

The report seems to make the MLBPA out to be the real bad guys in all of this.

That would be accurate.

That would be accurate.

I think it would both be accurate and also be the goal of the investigation.

So we can expect to hear MLBPA run it down at every opportunity until after the next CBA discussions?

As with anything else.  Don Fehr is no better than Scott Boras in my book.

Notice how you never see the two of them in same room together?  I'm just saying.
