Flag Pole
« on: July 04, 2007, 09:29:09 am »
In 7 years I remember one ball (Sexson's) hitting the pole in center and then that one (almost) last inning.  Since the pole is in play, is a deflection off the pole that is caught before it hits the ground an out?  I could probably find this on the Astros website, but I figure I'll be lazy and somebody will answer it for me here.

No, its the same as if it hit the wall.  The ball is in play.

No word on how they score a liner into the Reds dugout that bounces off Dick Pole.

If he's still standing after four hours, seek emergency medical assistance.

Or call your friends and brag about it.

If I experience a four hour erection, call my wife.  And have her call a friend.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
