Good grief, I'm not even asking him to be Mark Loretta. I just want him to hit .240, stay out of double plays and occassionally drive in a run or start a rally at the bottom of the order.
Exactly. I mean, at this point in his career, I don't see him ever getting much better as a hitter, but I also don't want to see him drop down to a .180 hitter like he was a while back. Doesn't need to be a Loretta type hitter, just an Adam Everett type hitter.
Plus, if guys above him are hitting what they are supposed to, probably nobody really cares what he does (to an extent, of course) down there in the line-up, anyway. Just hit enough that he contributes occasionally, and keep the solid glove up the middle, and I'll be happy.
