Outfielder Eli Iorg left the team Thursday and will have surgery to repair a ligament in his right elbow on Tuesday in Houston, said Pankovits, who added that the injury was likely season-ending.

Other injury news for Salem:

Infielder Wladimir Sutil saw his first action Thursday since getting hit by a pitch in the elbow on Sunday, and right fielder Ryan Reed (thumb) and shortstop Tommy Manzella (finger) are also out of action.

But they won the 11th straight anyway and are 1/2 game out of 1st with the the first half ending 6/17

Anyway, I really appreciate your first- and second-hand reports on the farm team.  I read the box scores daily, and can speculate on things (like the Sutil injury leading to the Torres promotion), but having the full scoop from the local rags is great!
