Excellent reporting.  Thanks for all the hard work.

Awesome!  This is the kind of information you can't get anywhere else.  Thanks.  Any plans to cover other drafts?  Say, 2003 or 2005.  Just wondering.

It's quite likely I'll be putting together a 03 draft review after the season is completed.

It's way early on 05.

It's way early on 05.

Especially since the 6 of the top 12 players drafted and signed were either out of highschool or one year of college.  It is a young draft. 4 of those six are in extended spring training right now.
Always ready to go to a game.

The is a great overview.  And you are right, it is best to give players 3-5 years before really talking about them at all.

But then that brings up an interesting question... How does the 02 draft look?  I am sure pretty terrible, but this type of rundown might be good... I am not sure I was even following the draft then... Have to go over my notes to find when I first did that.

<pause in real world>
Hey, that was the first year I followed it... the famous Grigsby draft.  I think the highest pick guy still in the organization is Chance Douglass as the 12th round pick..  (Mitch Talbot was traded last year, he was a 2nd rounder).
ETA: my bad, McLemore was a 4th rounder and is still in the org.

I doubt I have enough info on these guys to do it the same justice you just did though...

If anyone wants that list I can provide it.

Great post Duman.  It wouldn't surprise me if someone from the chronicle stole this idea for an article.
