Dodged some bullets but it was a nice win.

I don't think Correa's ball cleared the fence by more than two feet, but I'll take it.
Correa needs a hit here.
Do you think Colby is feeling bad for Escobar?
Keuchel throwing puss in the first...Trout and Pujols with monster back to back HRs...
Yesterday was waaay overrated.
Ashby is embarrassing.
What happened, I switched over to the Spurs/Thunder and missed it.
Trevor Bauer just put himself on my shit list. I hope we go medieval on his ass now.
Gomez might be dumber than Vernon Maxwell,
NOBODY KNOWS!
Is this Neshek pitching for the Maggots?
The broadcast just informed me that our DHs so far this season are hitting .200 with 2 homers and 8 RBIs 100 at bats in to the season.
That is fucking putrid.
Had the TV muted at that point, but saw the "Boogie Woogie" and said to Buster "What in the blue fuck is going on here?" and unmuted.
I'm watching on actual live TV, no optional other feed for me. I'd love to listen to the radio instead.
Jesus Christ, Ashby is fucking insufferable. They don't bother me half as much as they used to (since I discovered how to change the audio feed).
Martin grounds CLEARLY foul of first, and Ashby starts saying how close it was. Then they show a replay and he 180s without a WORD about the fact he said it was close to start with. Fucking numbnuts. I hate him so much.
Gomez shaved his head. Let's hope this turns things around for him.

HP Umpire is hideous.I thought last night was pretty bad at times.
Further proof that eyewitness testimony is not to be trusted.
I was 100% certain that Gattis was going to hit into a double play. So much so that although I knew it was impossible I was hoping Hinch would pinch hit for him. Think of it, pinch hitting for your DH in the ninth with the bases loaded. Yet the results could not have been worse. Or more predictable.
Seems like the strategy against Gomez lately. Get 2 strikes then climb the ladder till he gets himself out
At least Gomez is no longer screwing himself into the ground but he's clearly not seeing the ball well at all.
I'm surprised Gomez didn't miss his leg.
i don't see how that reply could be called conclusive. It looked like Altuve's toe could have been against the bag when he held the ball.
Were those were both upgrades of older hardware? My general philosophy is simply to wait until it's time for new hardware and move up at that time.
You have to remember that traditional defensive positioning is based on "metrics" too. I don't think it'd be accurate to say you've abandoned the metric-driven approach if it's situationally dependent.
Thinking more about shifts in, or shifts out, you use them when? To reduce the chance of a runner at third when the.games on the line, or at the corners if a bunt's likely. Do you shift out to increase the likelihood of a double play? Odd that I don't know. I guess the difference from lateral shifts is that they're based on a batters probabilities. I'd guess they help a pitcher like Keuchel's the most, where control is such a big part of the game. Either way, sometimes you get beat.
I realize this management team believes in it and will keep doing it until the metrics do not favor it. A modification I would urge if I had a voice is to play a conventional DP alignment in those situations when a DP is desperately needed. That modification would have gotten us out of the 6th with a 4-3 lead.
Forgotten in all our hand-wringing over the change of fate in the 6th and 7th is the offense's going stagnant with Cueto on the ropes. Had Correa's liner to right been fair....
Ifs and buts galore
Well iI'm sorry you feel that way.
Pardon my hyperbole.
Gomez, pinch running for Tucker...immediately picked off before the next pitch
Not sure what Lowrie is on about.
My kingdom for a double play... right here.
He did not exactly charge that ball hard and make a crisp throw, from my recollection.
I remember that part in the Bible when Jesus threw the moneychangers out of the temple and then apologized to all the tables he turned over.
Turn it back off, go back to bed.
When will people learn to apologise properly?
“While it was intended to be humorous, I understand it has caused offence."
Wrong! "I understand that it was offensive" is how you say it.
People take offense at anything and everything, and that's on them. You said something actually offensive, that's on you. It doesn't matter whether it caused offense or not, it's inherently offensive so you should apologise in that vein.
End of rant.
Meaningful baseball in October.. nothing better. Take it to those posers from Dallas!
Great win tonight.
C'mon Rick has no power here.. only Charles has the power
I've had to restart MLBtv about 15 times tonight. Now it's not coming back . Network error. Please try again...
ASU sorority girls after Colby's second jack.
Carter out at 3b. Again.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Alan Ashby is the one bad thing about this season.
A beautiful mind, that.
Fly to right, Carter gunned down at 3b, no challenge coming.

How is it possible that it's October 4th where you are at but you don't know the outcome of a game on October the 3rd?
Altuve with a lead-off double. How many hits is that?
Valbuena!!!
Pm me an address. You need a can of wolf brand and some Fritos for the playoffs.
And really? The Beatles or Credence? That was a thing in Australia?
You are my hero.
I see MLB.tv on my Roku is about 5 minutes behind
I know there was the whole Beatles/Lynird Skynird thing, but I was a Beatles guy.
Choo is a motherfucker. So is Fielder. So is Beltre. So is Napoli. So is Moreland. So is Odor. So is Ashby. So is Andrus. So are the rest of the cocksuckers. Bunch of motherfucking pieces of shit.
I first noticed only when Fiers was pitching his. Carrasco has nasty stuff when he's on but he's real inconsistent.
One of the most excruciating games to watch all season.
In terms of disappointments, Kazmir heads the list for me.
It's not his fault he runs like a fucking statue, no.
Tucker smoked that and it comes up 9 inches short of clearing deep right center wall and now will certainly be stranded at second -- Astros luck continues

This is painful to watch
Gallardo's rat tail haircut is troubling.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How the fuck does Kazmir have an ERA under about 8.00?
Duffy appears not to have been around long enough to be infected by the virus.
What a disaster. This game, not Mrs. Hawk's roasted chicken and potatoes. Those were quite excellent.
Coulda had runners at the corner, with Gray having to keep throwing pitches, instead he jogs into an easy out standing up.
What the fuck what Gattis thinking? Way to run yourself out of what could have been the nail in the coffin inning
The Hindenberg was much quicker. Merciful compared to this.
Seeing it.
One could only hope.
True, my bad for sharing.
So, my family (paternal side) have a family reunion every year around Thanksgiving. Well, one of my cousins is organizing shirts and decided to go with a baseball theme because my Grandpa was scouted by the Cards. A few things to know, #1 I probably watch the most baseball of everyone in my family--but a lot of them watch baseball, #2 my Grandpa did play baseball--but he grew up in a farming community (it's not even big enough for a city), #3 quite a few of my cousins played baseball both in high school and in the farming community my family is from.
There is no way in hell I would not have heard about my Grandpa being scouted by the Cards. No way!!!! All of my uncles talk baseball with me. My cousins that played baseball would have known and they don't seem to know. And the one that does know, didn't play baseball so why would anyone of told him that.
I'm thinking someone lied to him, but damn it would be really cool if he had been. My grandpa was a tall lean farm boy. So, maybe someone is keeping really good secrets.
A little PBP
T4:
Reddick hammers an upper deck home run to RF
Valencia...arguing every pitch as he usually does...crushes a home run out of the stadium to LF
Lawrie strikes out looking
Butler grounds out 5-3
Muncy strikes out swinging
But the As get a pair on back to back monster home runs...Astros lead 3-2
When's the last time you saw somebody get dinged up sliding into an umpire?
Carter bomb, making it 2-0 Astros.
I've got to go out to work. Let's bring home a W.
I'm hoping that doesn't start bothering him between innings.
Correa!!!
Astros off the schneid
Calhoun chops to Marwin to Lance. Marwin fields first well.
Trout walks.
Pujols ground rule double, runners at 2nd and 3rd. Mound visit. Pre-1930, a ground rule double was a home run.
Murphy flies shallow to 7.
Cron walks. Bases loaded.
Aybar lines to Marisnick.
They've yet to put a runner in scoring position. The good news is, they've not yet failed to get a hit with a runner in scoring position.
I like that Santiago is wearing stirrups, but he's got them on backwards.
Ashby is intrigued by the Astros team batting average.
Gomez's recent trend of going to knee swinging and missing is driving me. Fucking. Crazy.
CARLOS! STAY ON YOUR FUCKING FEET WHEN YOU SWING!
Star Wars day is part of the media campaign for the new Star Wars movie, which I think comes out in December. There was a pretty big event yesterday (maybe today? I'm in Asia so am not sure on the time difference) unveiling the new line of toys. There have been similar Star Wars themed things going on at a variety of big events, like ballgames.
In other words, yes...yes it is an obscure nerd thing.
That's really quite a lot of effort. I don't bother.
Is this some obscure Star Wars nerd question?
I can't help but think that some words got lost in the transmission of this message.
ETA: I see that the missing words arrived while I was typing my snark.
And the crowd goes wild on a routine fly ball to CF by Correa. Lots of Twins fans?
I've heard 3, and I've been channel flipping.
One of those intriguing arms...
Release.....the CONGER!!!
You've got to get your shooting in before beer and football.
I've been hearing shotguns in the distance for three days.
Baltimore has tying run on second with 1 out in the 9th
Have they said anything tonight about Correa?
More doubles power from Conger.
Wow, what a foul ball.
Thanks. Now I understand the "surprised he reached 1B in the air" comment.
Was I the only one that thought they could beat the Dodgers? This is not a bad team. They have flaws but they are good and believe they can win.
Don't blame the GZ for those funny looks.
Ethier - K swinging
Grandal - K swinging
Crawford - Grounds out 4-3
Middle of the 7th. Astros 3-1.
Yeah, I think that pitch at the knees might have been what brought it up.
Dierker, on the radio, was just advocating using technology for balls and strikes rather than using replays for plays on the bases.
Except when they drive me nuts.
Last night I re-watched the first three innings before going to bed. I got up this morning and re-watched every video clip, read every article, re-read the GameZone.
The rest of the season is going to be fun.
That's as excited as I've heard Brownie call a strikeout.
I'm happy you got to see an Astro throw one for your first.
What's wrong with cake?
Donnie Baseball fundamentally misunderstands cake.
Fiers can't complete a sentence in this interview.
I think he is good at the techncal part of the game and I like his connection to Astro history. Besides that he has many faults.
Uh oh, I agree with Ashby.
Good grief, the offense finally puts up two runs, so let's walk the lead-off guy in the next inning.
Carter and Marisnick get a hit. I could learn to enjoy this.
Well then. 4-1. That didn't work quite the way it was supposed to.
P. Tuck ties it with a no out blast!
I wonder if MRaup is among the living.
I. Fucking. Hate. The word intriguing.
No. My wife and I met him and his wife and two other Aussies on a river cruise in Russia. The 6 of us became great friends.
have you heard of Ross Thornton?
Was it about old school Australian Rules Football played to a Yardbirds track.
One of my all-time favorite photos is of the lobotomized CubFan shielding his eyes with his hand while the brim of his cap is scraping the back of his neck.
I wonder, who was the anti-fedora contingent? Why would anyone want to get rid of them? Did they update to flat-brimmed baseball caps worn sideways? Do they have to make their finger guns sideways too?
This saddens me.
Man, I wish I could synch up my radio feed with my video. Ashby nearly killed me during that challenge.
Isn't Aussie Rules where there's a bar fight with occasional pauses for some guy to kick a ball into the air; then, when the ball comes down, the bar fight resumes? Also, there's some smartly dressed fellows with white Fedoras that pretend to shoot people with finger guns.
Conger needs to work on his sliding.
Rugby in Sydney, Aussie Rules pretty much everywhere else, yeah?
What's the big winter sport in Australia?
Cold?
Looks like I'm going to be spending some time there.
I went back out to the garage I tells ya.
Conger! Conger! Conger! Conger! One for each RBI.
I may be the only one, but I think that db snakehead on the sleeve is kind of clever.
Somebody say something cute and or clever. Or I'm gonna get pissed.
Having Qualls back to his old self is really helpful.
Man, coming on the heels of the American Dream, this is really depressing. Piper was one of my favorites growing up, if not absolute favorite. Depressing.
You guys need to watch more baseball. He's slow as fuck, but nowhere near the slowest.
A wise man once said..."Tucker ain't much of an outfielder."
That game was quite pleasurable.
This is one hellishly hot stadium. I can't see the game for the sweat in my eyes.
Odor vs Conger. Battle of the titans.
So I wonder what Conger said.
Qualls looks pretty good.
Speed demon at it again

Roughed not reading his scouting report.
First time all year I turned off an Astros game. It was boring me to death.
Is the turf in Tampa appear as it does because it is quite shitty?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At least this game didn't take long.
what skill does Ashby have that is good?
Ashby's counting skills really aren't very good, are they?
I didn't have the impression he was old enough to retire. Then again, I really know nothing about him, except he is an Aussie.
I thought you were retired. I'd wondered where you were.
It probably wasn't, but it was really close. Ask yourself this question: if Jerek Deter is making that play, what do you think the call would be?
In other words, people who don't know any better have uninformed opinions based on lazy information gathering. How typical.
Because they committed wire fraud and racketeering in the US, and the FBI is the law enforcement agency that investigates those crimes. Sounds like you're upset they've been caught and are being prosecuted. Not sure how to respond to that.
Because they broke US law?
Is FIFA not crooked enough for you?
We won't ruin it for you.
He swung pretty hard. But it was a big time hanging slider...musta looked like a watermelon coming at him.
Word leaking out that the FBI is now coming after Sepp.
Springer Dinger!!
Man he hammered that hanger.
3-1 Astros
Mainly because they like basketball.
Hendriks, an Aussie, in to pitch for the Jays.
He seems to own that slicing double to left.
Those kids aren't loving their haircuts one bit.
Springer with a significant homer to RCF. Astros 4-1. No outs.
Rockets get to within 5 late in the 3Q, but the Clipper close the quarter on an 18-0 run. Rockets looking pathetic.
between the Astros and Rockets, it is fun being a Houston fan right about now.
He's a versatile guy.
Masturbate like a crazed weasel?
I am so glad that's over.
Well, my priorities are different from yours, surely. But in my newly elevated state of consciousness I have discovered that in order to appreciate sport one does not have to seize upon a team's fortunes like a pit bull onto the tender thigh of an unfamiliar four year old.
Carter did have two BB tonight.
Cowgill ejected after kicking his shin guard at the HPU.
In case anyone is keeping score, I despise Alan Ashby.
Wait. When Springer did his part on Beltre's Little League homer before, he wasn't charged with an error?
I had trouble the first inning and a half, but it's been stable since.
T8:
Sonofabitch...I missed that too
Oh well...still 3-1 Astros.
I'd like to see him there without a glove a bit more often
I'm there. There aren't any beer lines.
Is there an echo in here?
Moon had 2 hits and a walk (but also fell asleep and got picked off 1B with his team down by 5 runs) and Brunnemann threw a scoreless 8th but the Bite fell to the Heat 12-5 as Perth claims the ABL championship.
They are Christmas movies.
Not like Trading Places is a Christmas movie, but still.
Something along the lines of Sgt. Stedenko would be kind of all right.
What if Holly Gennaro worked at Sony instead of Nakatomi?
Exactly.
When do pitchers and catchers report?
He looks like a Chilean miner who was just rescued after spending six weeks trapped underground.
Chamberlain is a colossal bozo.
At first glance your wife looks like a reasonable woman.
No, that was a Sippfuck.
Lucky you didn't get to see Sipp blow a 2-hit shutout with 2 out in the 9th.
Shitfuck
One thing for sure, Olbermann and misery can not be separated. What a fucked up guy. Whether he be right or wrong on a point, he is always a miserable cocksuker.
Castro made an unbelievable base running fuckup and Chamito is letting the batting title slip away. I didn't see the need to start a thread. Plus, my formatting sucks.
I'd bet shooting a computer would be more fun than shooting a horse.
What? No one cares?
Don't forget the replay tomorrow. 5PM Dublin time.
Not according to Kris. Of course the obey clause had long been jettisoned by the time we got married. Or maybe it was in my vows. I can't remember.
I tuned back into the game to see if Altuve was going to get his 4th straight hit and saw he was lifted for pinch hitter Marc Krauss at the top of the inning whe down by 6. I'm trying to imagine in what bizarro-world universe that makes sense.
I'm a big fan of fish sticks, and isn't this a great game?
There shoul be a prohibition against wifely gloating in the marriage vows.
What happened? Gameday seems to have locked up and MLB audio refuses to play for me.
Damn it. It's gotten to the point where I'm scared to see a lead in the 9th.
Francona gets to do that I guess.
I saw Carter have a long conversation with the first base coach before he was caught stealing there.
Yes, Ken Johnson right?
Or just wait for about 8 consecutive walks and/or errors.
However, they aren't going to get there if they keep striking out like this.
Only nine more games after this one.
If they lose every game out then I win RTFL.
You see it every now and again - I think Ellsbury maybe did it a few years back? - but this wasn't a sac fly, it was a flyout and an E6. No RBI.
I would be confident betting on one of Keuchel or McHugh falling off next season, but maybe I'm just a pessimist.
Last night Villar looked brilliant, tonight not so much.
Great match. The Tipps had too many goal opportunities wasted but were able to come from behind and draw. Replay on 9/27.
I have no opinion on the Bodie matter, but to claim it as an "outrage du jour" is similar to creating a narrative she decries against. Lots of people feel like they need to choose sides, and many who have chosen the Luhnow side seem compelled to create a narrative that numerous media members are out to get Luhnow. Its starting to border on paranoia.
We're on our way to our local right now to take this in. It's a crazy game.
You fuckers can only dream about my aftermarket exhaust.
Hemi?
Sorry, but the #Astros firing Bo Porter before the end of the season is bush league.
Word.
I've been to Kalgoorlie. It kind of looks like an Old West town. I remember a large antique piece of furniture in a shop's foyer on the main street through town. According to a plaque, it was given around the turn of the (last) century by an American engineer to the ladies of one of the town's better brothels. The engineer, who worked in the local mining industry for a time, was named Herbert Hoover.
Still a lot of mining in the area.
I don't think I know anyone in Kalgoorlie.
I'm wondering when, in the ninth inning of a one-run game, has a manager let a reliever walk four batters in a row.
When I say, as I do occasionally, that the Astros are not trying to win this is what I mean. That they literally are not trying to win.
Also, on another of my favorite topics, I tune in to hear the soothing, familiar sound of Dierk's voice. Literally the second I tune in I find that he and Ash are talking about hot dogs. Fuck me, I mean, seriously. The Astros don't care about winning? That's fine. I don't care if they win. BUT QUIT TALKING ABOUT FOOD, FUCK.
Although it was awfully nice to hear Dierker call the game.
Talk about a brutal game.
Altuve just livened it up.
you're watching Irish guys throw up?
But nihilists kicked Lebowski's ass.
I'm going to spend the afternoon building a statue of Altuve in my backyard.
Altuve with a rare CS. He was out by a foot.
5-3 bottom of the 4th. One out, none on. Carter up.
Fielden Culbreth looks like he could block the plate while standing 2 feet behind it. That is one tubby umpire.
nihilist, it's got to be nihilist.
I'm still trying to figure out what in the hell the Sox catcher was doing there. He gets the throw from Pedroia, and at that point he is standing right on home plate. Petit isn't even in the picture yet as he's still 15-20 feet from home. Instead of placing himself in between Petit and home plate, he runs in a fucking semi-circle out towards the mound and then back towards the base line, allowing Petit to run past him toward home.
The catcher actually then made a very nice heads-up quick flip to the pitcher covering home, but I just can't figure out what in the fuck he was thinking, circling around the runner like that. Totally bizarre play.
And of course there's also the question of why the hell Petit was trying to score at all, because he should have been out by a mile and that's a terrible way to end a rally.
Lastly, great job by Fowler beating what should have been an easy 6-4 force play.
Well, it's juvenile, but it has to be said: Fuck Yu, Rangers.
Almost a hour and a half in and just in the top of the fourth.
Nice to see that glove flip backfire for a change.
Two pop-ups to third base in the inning. Very depressing. I really wanted Krauss's "double" to come back to bite the Rangers.
Who is Matt Clark? Julia's BF?
I got home just in time to turn on the TV and see Arencibia deliver his HR. FML.
This is just so fucking predictable. Is it really that hard to find a reliever who can occasionally get more outs than runs given up?
I'll be fascinated to see just how this goes tits-up.
That's hilarious.
it didn't look that bad on radio.
Done, and well worth the effort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBeZPJ03lW0
ETA: I kept thinking, how come the Aussie is telling me about the Rock Island Line, and then I thought, railroad man, as I recall. That's great that you knew.
Isn't the line a road?
This is an important life lesson. My other pitcher blew up. At least Keuchel didn't, and I'll keep my mouth shut about Sipp.
Same here.
Mine's working fine.I should not have complained... cant get a damned thing now.
Okay, everyone who is not already in the SnS fantasy football league. You are fucking up. But there is hope, there are openings for more players. It's a fun league. We have 31.438% more fun than the average fantasy football league. You should really give it a try. You can't get hurt and you might like it. It makes football season about 83.36% more fun and the void about 34.59% more fun. So if you don't like more fun you don't have to do a damn thing but if it's more fun you are seeking, you better join the league. Just PM DVauthrin or me, or Mr. Happy, or Chuck, or Austro, or Andy Zipp, or UTAstro...
I liked Brian Wilson's garden gnome outfit.
It is insane that anyone would question getting this person home to be treated. Alex Jones internet commenters are not real people.
Cecil pitching, hard-hit ball to right, Bautista (?) misplayed the bounce off the wall on a clear triple and Singleton never stopped. There was a throw home with Singleton called out that was overturned. Altuve had an inside the parker in 2011.
Robbie Baseball takes away a 2 run HR that would have tied the game. This is a fun game.
Dicken's throwing an eephus!
Half the stadium has their hands over their eyes.
I'm at the game. I'd never miss a chance to see all the hot Canadian chicks in there mukluks and parkas. They really need to figure out this is houston.
Happ has a perfect game through three innings?
That's exactly right, except it was to altuve at second to start a double play, and it wasn't anywhere near the plate.
I think he's talking about McHugh's trying to sail the ball over Altuve's head on what should have been an easy double play. Altuve jumped up and caught the ball and then somehow made the tag.
I'm picturing an 82-mph curve breaking right into the middle of the plate, thigh-high. How close am I?
It looks like he has two different curveballs?
And he gets a 1,2,3 inning. I can't remember, didn't they get something for him?
Lately I've been making sauerkraut. It's an interesting thing to do, because it's simple to do and the result is satisfying, but then you have to figure out what to do with sauerkraut.
Just watching MLB Network show. Do yourself a favor and go to mlb.com or somewhere and look at Machado's play on a ground ball down the 3B line.
Some nobody, to me at least, just hit his second home run of the night. 6-5 a Blue Jays.
Ho Chen is Canadian, and super informative:
Aggie27sd says he remembers Cosarts first start and it was a doozy. Every game, we get these nuggets of wisdom.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine
The damned icebacks are everywhere here in Texas. they're sending their youngsters across the Red River illegally because of Obama. You can get poutine on just about any street corner.
I always thought Canada was more like Australia than the USA or the UK were.
Veras in for the 6th. I didn't have the sense that Buchanan was struggling.
Let's see. There's poutine, and... I got nuthin'.
Matt Dominguez is nowhere in the vicinity of why this team sucks. I'm trying to figure out how this trade makes the Astros better in 2019 or whenever it is they're expected to stop sucking.
Now Luhnow's on the radio.
He's the lesbian I was talking about the other day. Apparently he's very fan-friendly. Next time you're at the park go over there and say hello. I would playfully rub my hand on the top of his head.
He promotes the CSNHouston website and twitter account.
Somebody is wrong. Evan Drellich Tweet:
Source said earlier today Mariners don’t have interest in Carter. Plus, logic: Astros need his production — they’re trying to add to lineup
T8 and Keuchel and Astros still cruising along 8-1.
Scully announced yesterday that he will return next year. #66.
Well, it just seemed that the wheels came off in a hurry tonight. Qualls has been very good this year, but this particular game he wasn't.
FIELDS! in for the 8th and looks a bit wild...
Carter is 3rd on the team this season in walks with 30. Springer is 2nd with 39, and Fowler first with 47. Walking must be hard on people, since it's put the two most frequent walkers on the DL.
Oh My Gawd! Chris Carter walked.
Dominguez with a very nice catch there.
I was being sarcastic. Personally I think it's silly to play the national anthem before every single sporting event.
I'm really hoping someone in your immediate circle drives a Holden ute.
I have an X-Trail which are unknown in the US but reasonably common in Australia as you know. They're ubiquitous here which is one reason I bought it. I figured I ran a pretty good chance of finding someone who could repair it. Happily all I've ever had to have done is a little body work. I'm considering an upgrade. I don't really need to upgrade. But I find myself wanting a few small things here and there that the car doesn't offer. But I surely won't be buying a Jaguar.
Win Expectancy is now 99.1%. We are so fucked.
That's a pretty sweet looking ride, isn't it? I had it muted, of course, but the aerial view of London caught my attention and I saw the car. I'm relieved that the reality of the situation here is such that I would never be tempted to buy a car like that.
Every now and then I see some goon driving around in a Maserati or a Ferrari or something like that and I think, Man, you must drive down different streets than I do. Plus, I have idiots clip my side-view mirrors all the time. As long as they don't shatter the glass I enjoy rolling down the window and insulting them loudly. Fortunately traffic is generally at a virtual standstill so I have plenty of time to share my remarks. But fuck, if I were tooling around in a Quattroporte I might actually get agitated.
I'm using Roku now and haven't seen CJ Wilson's hair smelled in a long time. That and games like this keep me coming back.
One out many reasons. I like to give the starter the chance to finish what they start.
Why does the streaming video of the MLB mobile app have commercials but if you stream at mlb.com or over a Roku there are no commercials?
I'd have let Obie finish the 7th. Then again I hate pitching changes.
At Nationals park, they limit you to two hot dogs per order and they only have a few stands serving hot dogs, so the lines get super long.
So this is a pretty fun game.
Would you share one with your dog? Lady and The Tramp style?
That was a disgusting promo.
I'm not sure there are too many players that strong.
Carter hits a high fastball over the CF wall. Astros 3-2. 2 outs. 3rd inning.
Derrick Norris singles up the middle, Donaldson scores from 2nd when Enrique Hernandez misses a throw to home. 1 out 2nd inning. Athletics 1-0.
Some would argue that playing the National Anthem before every pissant sporting event itself cheapens it and if it were brought out only on special occasions it would regain the dignity it may have lost. Just curious, is Advance Australia Fair played before all sporting events there?
You think that being dealt by the Astros is meant to be viewed as some kind of punishment?
It's disrespectful to the troops.
All day I've thought that tonight there was no game. I am so thrilled to see that the series with the A's is already starting. That's just the best.
Who's the mouthiest middling 'neck on the team?
Absolutely.
That's great. That's auto correct at it's best.
There's that cricket background poking through.
Yeah, the sun's above the yardarm here in Houston.
That'd be the one he's using then.
Cow art may be pitching according to the aboriginal walkabout calendar.
Man, they've apparently added at least 14 months to the calendar since I was in school. Who knew?
Castro with a two run blast.
Nice recap, counselor. I strongly suspect that Keuchel is a six inning three earnie per night pitcher in the end. Bobby Goldsboro? I haven't heard that name since I was a kid. I remember his sad song "Honey" well. My parents had the 45. (No, you young fucks-I will not explain what a "45" is-just google it). I never liked that song and was always glad when it mercifully ended. I preferred my dad's Luke the Drifter (a/k/a Hank Williams) album. My favorite song on the 78 (again, go away, you young whippersnappers) was "I've Been Down That Road Before." I have it on my ipod. It's great advice for life. There are many times in my life when I should have listened to that advice.
Boy, that's the truth. I am constantly amazed at the things that are scored as hits. Fielders would not like to have me as the official scorer.
Do any bears ever join the party?
According to baseball-reference.com, at the moment they're 14th in the AL in runs (494) and earned runs (452), but I doubt that includes tonight's effort. But they'll have to up their game to become one of the truly awful teams. It looks like last year they gave up 82 (848-766) unearned runs, and in 2012 they gave up 73 (794-721). At their current rate, they'll give up 785 runs, 718 of them unearned, or 67 unearned runs. The mighty Rays apparently gave up 106 unearned runs in 2001. I'm too lazy to try to figure out a comprehensive list of the worst offenders, but they rate better than I would have expected.
I can't conceive of a way he could be worse than Zeid.
I'm sure Zeid is a nice guy. And he's light years more talented at baseball than I ever was. But I don't see how they can keep him in the majors any longer.
Time to go get a relaxing root canal.
Bass replaced by Zeid.
