You gonna let him talk to you like that MikeyBoy?
This section allows you to view all posts made by this member. Note that you can only see posts made in areas you currently have access to.
nope, Douchebag
I agree, the TZ needs him back. He's still one of my favorite posters.
Roy Oswalt was hit by a ball Sunday and suffered a contusion to his Trade Potential, but it’s not expected to be serious.
If I can cheer for Scott Rolen I can cheer for damn near anybody.

"I love you," said the rain.
This is a Boras deal. He still feels guilty about Prior and so he dictated the limits.
4th straight. Another one in the lf boxes
Actually, I find much more dignity in having sex for money than for letting men snap pictures of me in lingerie.
Okay, multiple choice.
a.) Tonya Harding now (as part of the pantheon of former, uh. . . whatevers now employed as commentators on The World's Dumbest---- shows.
b.) Tonya Harding on her wedding night (to that Gillooley dude.) I've heard she looked better then (relatively speaking), I wouldn't know.
c.) Matt Groening
d.) OSF
Only check one.
ROY OSWALT HAS JUST SAT DOWN 27 STRAIGHT PADRES HERE AT PETCO IN SAN DIEGO. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT, 27 UP, 27 DOWN!
I had hoped it was just me.
I could accept senility a great deal easier than the knowledge that yes,
THAT JUST HAPPENED.
Out of nowhere.
Spontaneous MC Hammer.

From two bleach-white, 50+ year old dudes.
THE HORROR!
Waldo you can say Fucking on here. Just saying.
Anybody heard the new Gaslight Anthem yet? I haven't had a chance to get over to Cactus to get a copy yet.
When the other elevator arrived, you should have shouted "I shall now board this lift in fulfillment of the prophecy!" Ten bucks says half of them wait for the next one.
Alkie, I happen to be good friends with a girl that dated Chris during and after college, I could probably get a written description of how his dick tastes?
Peter Cetera is going to be playing here imminently.
Americans think the FIFA officials are doing a good job? That's news to me.
Do your jobs, you lazy fucks.
Using an 8 year old link?
What is that link? This is the one I'm using: http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=6375&league=FIFA
Many would love to see that happen.
you'll see that there is no such thing as balanced coverage by either side of the spectrum.
Assuming England win today, they need any non draw in the England slovenia game.
I'm hopeful that one day we'll talk about the Great Jeff Keppinger in the same tones that we use for the Great Billy Spiers.
Good Lord what a circus...
Rumors du jour:
- Beebee is throwing around $17 million figure for a Big 12(-2) contract. (also rumored to be based on an 18 year deal, lolz)
- UT ready to declare commitment to Big 12(-2) today
With the associations inherent to the membership of this community, I feel that your initiatives are facing at best an uphill battle.
The Rivals guys are all saying the KC report is bunk, Chris Brown (Orangebloods) seems to be the trusted authority in their network.
It'll come back tonight though, right about the first time I see a goddamn cap with a "C" on it.
It's kind of, well... gay. But I'm really digging the Matt Pond PA release, The Dark Leaves.
I quit.
I had to close the door to my office and collect myself.
Dude. When the complete DVD comes out you, me, Alkie and Ebby'll get together and spend a weekend watching the whole thing and knock back a couple of co-colas. Whaddaya say?
It's like complaining that at the end of Home Alone they didn't give the rest of macaulay culkin's life story.
...it happened because Ben dislodged the frozen polar bear wheel.
Aside from it being really long, what's so special about it?
You guys need to get the fuck over the fact that the team's best player is making plain to an already aware public that the Houston Astros are a fucking joke of a major league franchise. I mean, seriously.
All the time. Everywhere. It's called independent baseball.
The team won't be affiliated with a major league.
"We wish them the best of luck in their endeavor. It's great they are stepping out to bring baseball to Sugar Land," said Pam Gardner, president of business operations for the Houston Astros, whlie lustily stroking her hair.
Or, put another way, a version of Yeah Yeah Yeah's worth listening to.
The Hold Steady album is really different from their previous, but I like it. It's like the transition U2 made with Achtung Baby (not in terms of where they went musically, just in that it's a curveball)
Like you don't know...
A rocking good time by Australia's most underrated and second greatest rock band.
So what's the ideal return? Pitcher(s) or position player(s)?
Hoodoo Gurus - Purity of Essence - First new album in 5 years. Sure their old and cranky but hooks still ooze out. After nearly 30 years in the business, the Hoodoo Gurus still combine melodic power pop and garage rock with a bit of psychedelia, and "Purity of Essence" finds them in top form. A rocking good time by Australia's most underrated and second greatest rock band. Probably can't find it in a record store near you. I had to order mine online.
Are you ashamed of SnS? Is that why you didn't mention it/us?
They both annoy me.
...Berkman, who was on base, walked over and gave everyone some sunflower seeds.
He was mouthing off at Lee after Lee popped up so Lee tried getting into his face. Benches cleared. Carpenter then was saying something to somebody else on the Astros once the benches cleared.
...but if you can get the time machine, couldn't you get those three days back?
Is it an HP laptop? They had a run of laptops with bad nVidia graphic cards and when the board dies, they just replace them with another bad nVidia card. They generally don't last more than a year. Supposedly, nVidia knew about it too. You can find out more here.
Baking a laptop motherboard is a bad idea (I shouldn't have to tell you this). If the fix works at all, it's likely because it cooked the thermal sensors on the mainboard, so they won't shut off the board to protect it anymore. Of course this will eventually lead to the heat death of your mainboard anyway.
Did you try holding it upside down and shaking it?
God can hit but can he lay off a slider low and away?
Thank you, Ian. First, can we dispense with the "good evening" bullshit? It's only 3 PM in London.
With that unpleasantry out of the way, I am pleased to inform that you have correctly surmised that SpikesnStars, LLC is in need of a Hollywood summer party. While I respect the fact that your company may have novel ideas, our needs are very specific:
1. We will have need of 24 attractive yet nondescript women. They should arrive at the party dressed only in thongs and black robes. they should also be wearing golden masks to conceal their identities. Any party guest's displeasure with any of these women will constitute a breach of contract and result in the full refund of our fees.
2. We will have need of an organist with the ability to play a keyboard while blindfolded. Should the organist resemble David Arquette, this will constitute a breach of contract and result in the full refund of our fees.
3. We will have need of a large mansion with randomly placed potted plants. Lack of plants will constitute a breach of contract and result in the full refund of our fees.
4. Guests are only to be admitted to the party with the password "Fidelio".
5. Admittance of any guest with the correct password but who resembles Tom Cruise will constitute a breach of contract and result in the full refund of our fees.
6. You're going to need a shitload of bleach afterwards. Any cleaning will be at your expense.
Who is this Chelsea Handler of whom you speak? Is it the one from the tee-vee who's like an unfunny Jon Stewart in drag?
Politicians are starting to call for MLB to revoke the All-Star game from Arizona, because of their new law. I guess this is similar to the NFL skipping AZ when they refused to celebrate Martin Luther King day.
Damnit, girls, sit still for 10 fucking seconds! Stop taking your bows out! Woman, would you get your kids under control please?! And whats with that stupid grin? Just how much Oxy did you take this morning? Okay, here we go, in 3..2..1.. I personally trained the doctors in the Brown procedure...
La Russa's kids want to bat ninth.
It's out there. It's really good.
What I didn't catch por la radio is the obvious Andy Partidge yelp in Hutchison's vocals. There's a definite Scottish lean to the yelp, too, which I love. It's been ages since I was nutso about a Scottish band and it's about time.
Anyone at FS yet? We are alone and a little scared...
Fuck the Cubs.
Check out The Tins. They don't have a CD yet, but I'm really liking what I hear. This is a good starter http://prettymuchamazing.com/mp3/the-tins-the-green-room but check out their myspace page. Some hits and misses, but I like where they're going, particularly is you're Krug & Co. sound type fan.
Avoid Tactical Nuclear Penguin like the motherfucking plague.
Google it. I am sure there is info out there.
Parenting is hard. I wonder what my kids will be writing 20+ years from now.
If you liked the Avetts, definitely get Mumford and Sons.
I'm a deadbeat. I am still paying for my ticket. Sorry. I will put a check in the mail tomorrow.
We're outside of the lunch crush, so they usually just put together as many tables as we need. No need to book a room.
A/holic: The Saucer is a good call as, on OD, the BUS is slammed. Easier parking too. What say everyone else?
...Fantasyland, based on the book of the same name.
...the Morning Benders.
Five days ago I'd never heard of these guys, now they're popping up everywhere. I watched the TV show Chuck last night and in the closing sequence the background music was "Swim Until You Can't See Land."
Dr. Dog.
Really, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Unfortunately one less, Mark Linkous of Sparkelhorse (and earlier The Dancing Hoods) killed himself last week and that is just a bummer. Poor bastard was a troubled soul but a great artist.
They've got a really good sound in spite of their animal name.
I heard a piece about this band on the radio yesterday (maybe you heard the same one?) and was most impressed.
By the way, I've noticed several bands from around the country suddenly dropping in on Austin and Houston this week and next week. Is there, like, something going on?
Pinwheel had referred multiple times to this.
"I do like Cooper," Blum said. "He's a good dude. But we lost faith in the leadership that was there. That was apparent. I think both sides read it equally.
"We understood it. Then he understood it. And it was impossible to regain faith in the system. That's what led to distrust in the system."
By late summer, a half-dozen or so players were wearing T-shirts that read "Really?" -- a not-so-subtle form of fashion rebellion against a manager clearly in over his skis.
Fallas is the anti-JDJO.
The problem is you have to have good, sound players. Don't know that the Astros have many of those.
You SHOULD have a man-crush; Mills is a great fit I think. I watched the guy work for six hours or so yesterday and came away convinced. Yes, I know, it was a very short time, etc., but I am quite confident that anyone who saw what I saw would come away with the same impression. The people I talked to who've been there for a good while are unanimous. I have no idea how good the Astros are going to be while Mills manages the team but I am convinced that he will maintain the respect of anyone and everyone in the organization while he is there.
Here was Mills' response when asked what he didn't like Thursday:
"I don't want to go too much into bit becuase I haven't talked to the players yet.
is it too soon to sacrifice some kfc or a box of twinkies
I liked both books, too, and have read most or all of the work by both authors. In my opinion, however, they are as different as toast and tofu.
Clavell does an excellent job of placing his characters in historically realistic contexts, with actions and opinions that are consistent with those times. He weaves a wonderful plot, but leaves you with a better understanding of the historical factors at work. He omits much that would be beneficial to a real (though informal) student of history, but he follows an author's variation of the Hippocratic oath ... first do no harm. King Rat is his earliest novel, though set in a WW2 Japanese prison camp, it is more recent in its setting than all but one of his other works. Taifun is (in my opinion) his best; even better than Shogun.
Follet writes gripping stories, and with only a few exceptions I have enjoyed them. However, they are always painful in the way they dismember history and impose 20th century attitudes and sensibilities on characters that would never have thought or acted that way. In many ways his approach is as heavy-handed as James Michner, though unlike Michner he does seem to come up with fresh plots for each story. Enjoy him if you will, but beware the anachronism. It is best to take him with a large dose of non-fiction as a chaser. Pillars of the Earth is indeed one of my favorites, but the warning here is especially apt.
5-0 everytime I've checked the score changes.
"I'll do anything it takes to win. I think losing [stinks]. I've always felt that way. The one thing I've tried to do is to tell the four- and five-year olds [he coaches] that 'It's not OK to lose, guys.' You don't have fun when you lose."

Padma: Now, we worked a cock earlier...let's see how it turned out!
12:49 p.m.: The Internal Revenue Service in Dallas, Texas, told CNN that the building is a federal IRS outsourced building. It said 199 of its employees work there. The IRS said it thinks all employees are accounted for, but they are checking.
Longhorn girl was once again spotted behind the KU bench, this time at the A&M/KU game.

What do you do when you decide when you want to listen to new music? What are you actually looking at or tuning into?
I'm looking forward to the new Milk Kan album sometime in the early part of this year, although I already have pre-release copies of about half of it.
MY favorite recent discover was Surfer Blood. I really like "Floating Vibes," "Catholic Pagan," "Neighbor Riffs" and "Fast Jabroni"
Matt Schaub: The Pro-Bowl MVP. Hudson must be so proud.
I don't know if I need to start a new thread for this, but Spoon's new album came out yesterday. I've only had a chance to listen to it once through, but it sounds really good.
The deal may not still be going on, but it was only $3.99 to download from amazon yesterday
I just stumbled across the Avett Brothers on Austin City Limits (KLRU-HD in Austin).
Damn that's some sweet hooch. At least you're not having to drink it straight from the bottle, cowboy.
What he really needs is a hot psychiatrist to help him unwind. Either that or just play every hole with his 7-iron.
What a goddamn joke.
He doesn't deserve one Pro Bowl, let alone two. Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, and Kyle Orton are more deserving this year than Vince Young.
I spend a lamentable amount of time in airport lounges. I'm in one now. Sitting in these places I overhear a lot of conversations, and conversations between male colleagues almost invariably drift to sports. Many times, most times, even, the people engaged in conversation are colleagues, they work for the same large company, work for complimentary companies, who knows what, but they are not close friends and as they sit and chat they get to know one another. Again, the conversations will almost inevitably drift to sports. I am astounded at how often people describe their sports loyalties. Well, I grew up in Pittsburgh so I like the Steelers and I live in Phoenix so I like the Cardinals and my son grew up in Kansas City and he likes the Chiefs so I like the Chiefs. You know, what the fuck? You like the color green? Hey, me too! Let's be Packers fans!
Fuck me, dude, pick a team. Hell, maybe that's my problem. If you root for half the fucking league you're bound to get a winner once in a while. The two behind me at the moment - Colts, Eagles, Steelers and Giants between them - are now hotly debating where Brett Favre is from (they have settled on Louisiana somewhere) and where he went to college (they have narrowed it down to Mississippi or Mississippi State).
Memo to Drayton and Pam: If you sign scumbags to contracts, you forfeit the right to call your organization classy. And you take that away from the fans too. Fans who value class don't like wifebeaters being associated with the team they root for.
Why would the Astros want that hunk garbage? Even still, I don't understand why they would give that major shit-bum 5 million even if he wasn't a piece of human excrement. Three point five with incentives at best. Myers has always underachieved as a player while excelling at being a fuckwad. Wade?!?!? Dammit! WTF!?!?
That's ridiculous. Seven teams beat the Jets, and not one of them had Peyton Manning on their team.
But he wasn't offered more $$$.
Sand Aggies, really? You realise I'm coming to your house tonight, right? Retribution may be in order.
...one of the worst fields I've seen.
The words you just used are all clearly English, but the order they are in is incomprehensible to me.
District 9
It didn't happen during a period of ten years?
Also, I really enjoyed Mykonos by Fleet Foxes.
If you haven't heard the Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zero's album, download it immediately.
Pete, here ya go.
I'm not jealous of the Cowboys. I'm jealous of the Yankees...i'm jealous of the Lakers...I'm jealous of the 49ers, Steelers and Packers. I'm jealous of whomever is giving Alyssa Milano the high hard one at the present time. But I thank God every night that I wasn't born in Dallas or any place that would otherwise predestinate me to root for those cocksuckers.
Not my first hefeweizen but will be the last time I try the Shiner variant. I tend to like wheat-based beers at all times, but that is just me. Thanks for the Paulaner suggestion. I'll try it next summer.
It is 4 pm andI'm still an idiotOU still sucks.
did ya here?
too bad he didn't go to that school...oh wait, nevermind
I keed, I keed
It's also a just a matter of time before the sun burns out and all life as we know it is extinguished, but that's hardly newsworthy, is it?
fox is shamelessfor showing that shot of the old kicker on the sidelines.

Texans driving for a TD...first and goal from the 5 yard line...halfback option pass where Chris Brown sort of shot puts the ball straight up in the air when there was no Texan receiver withint 20 yars of the ball. Intercepted on the 2-yard line.
You wouldn't believe it if we told you.
First issue I've ever had with U-verse: the fucking picture FROZE as he kicked. NExt thing I know, Brent says "he made it!"
I don't see how anyone would know if she's a blonde or not. I'm going to need a pick axe and a blow torch to get through all the layers of makeup, dye, and plastic.
Why in the holy fuck was the Titans throwing the ball on those three downs?
You know what? I don't have all that much hatred for Bud Adams to tell you the truth. Once he moved my team to some backwater where high art is 1-4-5, a rhyming dictionary and a fake yodel and high fashion is an individually sized coonskin hat he got the fuck out of my life and out of my general consciousness. Also, his current bunch of clown and reprobates wearing the old uniforms has helped me considerably to get over becoming emotional, lachrymose, even, at the very sight of the old derrick.
And I know perfectly well that Titans fans have known and will know nothing but heartbreak.
Even with Dungy gone and some other guy standing on the sidelines (he never DOES anything... anybody notice that?) I can't summon up much beyond respect for the Colts. That is an offense the likes of which you rarely see. As much as I would like Mario to plant that molasses mouthed redneck in Reliant turf like a sago palm I can easily acknowledge that it is a privilege to watch him play football.
Gotta say I like all the other selections for Gold Glove, besides maybe Matt Kemp.
texas would be going to war wearing a mack/davis ankle bracelet
Crazies are crazies. It seemed like the bulk of this afternoon's reporting was "what was his motivation?" Much hay was made on certain channels that he was a Muslim; others focused on the fact that he was terrified of being deployed to a war he didn't believe in. The simple fact is that he has a lot more problems than any simple answer can provide. His issues are a lot deeper than any single belief. The man is crazy, and this was a horrible tragedy that has no greater meaning beyond itself.
Good Christ. I thought the one at Hyde Park Grille in Austin was great, but the next time I feel the need for a heart bypass I'll check this one out first.
But since you asked. Everybody wants to.
Good news for Steve Philliips.
...a legitimate news source.
...but be warned, if you don't have a good meal, it'll really put your dick in the dirt.
in the movie, she doesn't want jimmy to play basketball because it'll distract him from going to college on his academic merits. excusing for a moment the dick-slammingly obvious point that hackman brings up in the movie about jimmy being good enough to earn a basketball scholarship, CAN'T HE FUCKING DO BOTH YOU DREAM-ROBBING, WET-BLANKET HOSEBAG??? IS IT NOT SO CRAZY THAT A KID COULD PLAY BASKETBALL ANNNNNNND STUDY? IT'S NOT LIKE HE HAS TO WORK IN THE FIELDS AFTERSCHOOL LIKE ALL HIS OTHER CLASSMATES. HIS PARENTS ARE FUCKING DEAD! LEAVE HIM THE FUCK ALONE AND LET HIM BE A FUCKING STAR!!!

It was just as lame back in the late 80's.
Can anyone here confirm that AT&T DSL in Houston allows access to ESPN360?
Shit I'm hearing for the clubhouse, so take it with a grain of salt, but Lee is about Lee. He's not a bad guy by any means, and not a problem on a team, but he's not the kind of guy who is going to run into a brick wall to win. If winning comes, that's cool, but he's not going to necessarily do anything to put forth any special effort.
I'm not embarrassed to admit that those robots scared the ever loving shit out of me when I was six.
Hey, the Brewers are gonna need a new manager sooner or later.
No sir. A plaid flat cap is indicated.
MLBVideoIFY
Did it strike anyone else as odd that Cooper let Wandy run the bases after he pulled up at 1st clutching his hamstring the other night? Then he took him out before he pitched again.
No, but I am very familiar with the subjectatin hand.
Cabrera has friends, too
...when it became clear that any place would want her to buy something to use the bathroom, she decided to use the restrooms in the custom dildo store.
I fear we will have to summon the Council of Elrond.
I seem to recall Houston hospitals reporting a significant spike in births 9 months after Ike, though
So, is there going to be an early meeting for this group?
OMG, you guys just bored me back to work.
Anyone got server space to store a ~1700 mb file long enough for someone else to download said file?
It's not porn.
By us or agin' us?]
Blaming the baby already?
guilty--oops, was that facts or the truth? i have so many problems with them.
Haven't seen the meconium yet, have ya?
So, what you're saying is, Crede ate his Wheaties today?
I'm not feverishly refreshing, but I'm cooking, and the Older Son is flipping between a movie and the game... with more tv time going to the movie, of course. So I'm happy to have whatever updates you give. Do what's easiest for you- it's appreciated.
i did not notice that
but i'm pretty sure it winked at me
I mean, really? Come on.
They were talking baseball, especially pitching, and it was great.
Better grab another 6er. Backes still pitching and just gave up another...
But I'm enjoying Al Leiter and David Cone on YES tonight. They're talking a lot.
So, in the heart of New York City you eat dinner at Taco Bell. I think it is going to take a while for you to get fully acclimated.
Never talk about fight club.
When does it start? I thought it started at 11:30am today. I'm going to be disappointed apparently.
I also have a fear of being shot dead while in a strip joint.
You're telling me that you don't find something interesting about the fact that those threads I started have something like 3 to 10 times as many reads as most of the threads in B&Q? As usual, I take no responsibility and blame society at large.
If people would stop smoking the crack, I wouldn't have to keep selling it.
Thank goodness for parentheses.
"I'm kind of just finding holes here and there," Pence said during the Astros' recent series at Cincinnati.
Whims of a madman?
Count yourself lucky... Man, I saw a guy walking down Congress today wearing a rainbow leotard that was WAY too short/tight, and like 6 inch stripper heels.
I wish I could get U-Verse, but my new house is only a couple of blocks from the biggest fucking AT&T sub-station in Houston.
not a chance. if it were, it would be sitting on my head.
I have terrible news for you.
Time to drag this up. The MM clan will be relocating within Houston, and I am taking this opportunity to make the jump to HD.
So...
1. ATT U-Verse: looking at bundling TV, internet, and phone. Anyone had any problems with it?
2. Plasma vs. LCD. What the hell? I'm looking for a big fucking TV to watch from anywhere in the family room and kitchen. Is one clearly better than the other?
3. Any common problems in making the HD jump that I need to know about?
I'd have run him back out there for the eighth.
Texas reliever Austin Wood pitched 13 innings, including 12 1/3 innings of no-hit ball before allowing a two-out single to Tony Sanchez in the 19th inning....
Woods, who threw 169 pitches, including 120 strikes, was relieved by Dicharry, who retired the next two hitters.
From the same article:
So he's saying that his pitching coach went out to talk to his pitcher, and there was no communication of what information the pitching coach might have discussed?
Go pee on Shae for us all.
I don't post much (and am not very good at it when I do)....
ETA: Fuck the Cubs
pravata was the Last Sane Man. A man who wasn't distracted by hype or any matter of media prestidigitation. He intrepidly fished through the oceans of dreck and brought us the most relevant and informative Astros news. He brought us the news in a workmanlike, taciturn factor, without begging for accolades, without calling undue attention to himself. No longer can we rely on pravata and Footer. Now, we must do our own research, exercise our own judgment. We suffer from those losses, but I am hopeful that we can follow in pravata's footsteps. And, if the legend is true, when SnS is in its darkest hour, he will return to reclaim his position as Ferret-in-Chief.
Looks a bit likea youngerColonel Sanders.
Filling out the lineup card incorrectly? Just when you thought there was nothing left for Cooper to aspire to.
don't you remember the infamous avatar scandal?
Not looking good. It's already started coming down at the stadium and that's a long fetch of rain to the south and west:

Post-game quote from Artest:
That was exactly what went through my mind. But I think they're starting to shake that.
Did anyone see the Spilbourghs play? He's not just faking it again, is he?
