All Songs Considered posted a video from The Lone Bellow today that's really good. New album early next year, produced by the Civil Wars' producer.

Really great video:

I'd make a terrible GM because I wouldn't give any pitcher a contract for longer than three years, and even that would be a stretch for me. However, in today's market, six years for a pitcher is routine. I certainly wouldn't give any every day player over 30 a contract for longer than three years either.

And most pitchers you'd give just three starts!

Dare I ask exactly what that is?

Graphic design/video production/trial strategy/witness prep/general AV/tech support to trial teams, usually requiring me to sit in court for weeks on end.  Some jury consulting.  Usually civil cases (lots of IP work).

I'm assuming those who are filing a lawsuit do.
Eh, I'm not a lawyer, so maybe it is illegal.

So you'd pay more money to be able to reach fewer viewers?  And that's a good business strategy exactly why?

Talk Zone / Re: Comcast Houston Debuts Monday

I'm willing to pay some token amount for all sorts of things. As a lawyer, do you think I have cause to sue because someone has not made everything available to me?

So you're willing to pay the same token amount that MLB charges Astros fans in Portland, OR for the MLBEI package, or you're willing to pay the same token amount Houstonians pay their exclusive Astros' television provider.  Either way, if you live in Austin, you can't watch the Astros.

And of course it's not illegal, nobody is saying it is.  It's just not a good way to treat your fans.

So if you're Comcast or FoxSports or whomever, how much are you willing to pay for reduced broadcast rights?  More?  The same amount? Less?

By golly, I bet it would be more!

1013
Talk Zone / Re: Comcast Houston Debuts Monday
« on: December 07, 2012, 02:31:53 pm »
Why?

Because every game is broadcast (aired or not) and he's willing to pay his provider for the only channel that can possibly show it.  Or he's willing to buy the MLB package that lets you watch "All the games."  You can pay for both services and still not be able to watch every game.

But it's not the territorial boundaries that make that the case. It's the exclusivity with their broadcast partners. Someone has bought and paid for the rights to broadcast the games in your market. Territorial rights don't have anything to do with whether or not the decide to actually show the game or something else in its place.

Shrink the territorial boundaries to the city in which the team hosts ballgames (Milwaukee in this case) or get rid of the exclusivity clause in outlying towns.  There, MLB solves the problem.

He's not blacked out. That's the point I'm making. Just because his local television affiliate decides to show Heidi rather than the game, doesn't mean MLB has blacked him out.

Correct.  MLB didn't black him out.  But if his town decides that Heidi is better television (probably true at this point), they shouldn't be lumped into the Houston broadcast area (given its distance).  MLB controls that.
He should have the ability to pay to watch the Astros whenever they're playing.  Right now he has no control over that - he pays somebody in the hope that they'll choose to air the Astros instead of Heidi.

1.  MLB defines broadcast area, sells TV rights to Network
2.  Network sells content to Provider
3.  Provider sells content to Consumer
4.  Consumer has no control over whether he can watch the content

I can make a 200-slide PPT for you if you like.

Talk Zone / Re: Comcast Houston Debuts Monday
« on: December 07, 2012, 10:47:08 am »
You're still missing the point.  YOU LIVE IN THE ASTROS BROADCAST AREA.  The Astros have licensed the broadcast of every game to your home.  If it's not on at your house, it's because you provider decided not to show it to you, not because MLB or the Astros have blacked you out.

Doesn't MLB define the broadcast areas?  So if he lives 200 miles from Houston and is blacked out, doesn't some of the blame fall to the people who lumped his town into Houston's broadcast area?

And since the new channel isn't available to anybody except Comcast subscribers (poor souls), wouldn't a smaller broadcast area allow for people who live 200 miles away to buy the MLB package and watch their favorite team?

And even if what I stated above isn't true, is it ok for somebody to completely understand the situation and still not like it?

And 137 one or two word slides is better?  Anything more than 25 slides is too many.  They could have said the same thing in roughly 1/10th the number of slides they used.  Using too many slides is far worse, IMO, than cramming too much information into one.

Not to start (or continue) a PPT argument, but it's all about the speaker.  I can make 5 PPT slides for a two-hour presentation if the speaker knows how to walk through it.  Or I can make 200 slides.  It's not about the number of slides used - it's about the amount of information that needs to be conveyed.  And if it's complex information, the more slides the better.

I am convinced now that the new ownership is even more clueless than the old ownership, and that's uncharted depths of cluelessness.

I don't think they're clueless, I think they just don't give a fuck. Winning games makes fans happy and puts asses in seats.  Until they start doing that consistently, every peripheral (beloved or otherwise) is up for grabs.

I hate it, but that's how I see it.

This is true.
But there's a massive amount of Star Wars books that are considered "canon" that fill in a lot of the backstory, and also continue the story for a few decades past A New Hope.  And, surprisingly, they're quite good.  Mostly.

I'm curious how close they'll stick to any of these.  Lucas isn't exactly Tolkein, and while Peter Jackson did his fair share of "tweaking" his LOTR movies, they mostly stayed on track.  I assume the Star Wars franchise is more conducive to deviations (I haven't read any of the books).

I've always thought that great artists have a three-album peak.  Legendary bands will have more, sure, but I think getting to three is the tough part.

List three consecutive albums that define an artist's peak.

I'll start.

Radiohead
The Bends
OK Computer

No one told these guys that on radio, silence has drama, and real information has value.

Exactly.  You have to earn the right to miss a call or blather on about something unrelated.  Prove to us you know the rules before you start breaking them.  If we like you and you're reliable, you'll never look for another job.

Side note, as great as JD and Brownie are, I'd really like to have an option to turn the announcers off and just hear the natural sounds of the ballpark.  I think they tried this in football once but it failed miserably.

Took two of the boys. Parking, free. Tickets--five bucks for me, a dollar each for the guys (8 and 11), cheaper than a movie. 3 JR Richard bobble heads, and a poster of ex-Astros with next years schedule. I buy two mini bats which the kids use to pound out cheers to the Astros on seats and railings looking at me to see how far they can go. I don't care, there's only cardinal fans around. The game is wonderful: double plays, bunts, a steal to get in scoring position that pays off--the kids love it. They love Bud's nickname and no Charlie I will not call you Shiner. We talk about the DH and the AL and Milo who seems older than God to them--hell he's older than grandpa, by a lot. Sam is into all the chants and is following the pitch count and is rooting for him to get into the later innings and earn the win. I am having so many memories wash over me looking at all the pennant flags with the tiny NL on them. The kids don't care. They're having a blast and I am too.  We buy two cookies and cream waffle cones and a coke icee and sit in much better seats, largely alone with cardinal fans a few rows down. The boys ask if they can open the bobble heads. Hell yeah only creepy guys leave them in the box. I tell them about JR Richard and they are moved--his number should definitely be retired. We talk about Altuve and Charlie says he's a magic midget and then sure enough our solo all-star hits a solo shot to give the good guys a lead. And the kids love all the stupid games and contests and the season ticket holder who is dancing cause he won a big freaking tv for reupping on the tickets for next season. After a tense 8th the Astros close it out in the top of the ninth. Carlos Beltran gets booed. Milo gets applauded. Bud pitches a fantastic game and Altuve delivers. After high-fives and hugs the guys declare that this was the best baseball game ever and they want to go to opening day. Because if the Astros can beat the team that won the world series then they can beat the team that lost the world series too. Sam admits that he thought the Astros would loose and he was ashamed that there were so many cardinals fans and so few astros but we didnt give up on the astros did we and we got to see them win. I told him that he might have seen the very last game that a pitcher ever has an at bat in Houston. He thinks about that. Thanks for taking me Dad, I'll never forget it. We get in the car and the first thing we hear is that the pirates lost to the mets. Damn this is a good night. Both boys tell me that they want to play baseball now--and my sixth grader tells me on ride home that at a baseball game he forgets his worries. Me too.

Great story.  Sounds like everything a dad could ask for.

Passed this way an hour ago

If you can figure out the date, I can probably find it. If you can give me a track list, I may be able to narrow it down.

All I've got is that it was after he went electric, had a kick-ass Simple Twist of Fate on it, was an actual CD (not a bootleg) and was fairly old.  I'm sure that really narrows it down.

I was asleep (unemployed, recently graduated) when my phone rang.  My mom, who was a Delta flight attendant at the time was on the other end of the line and said, "Don't worry, I'm ok."  Great, thanks for waking me up.  She said to turn on the tv.  I asked what channel.  She said, any channel.  TV turned on, ESPN running baseball highlights.  Great, thanks again for waking me up.  I then changed to NBC and watched the second plane hit the towers.

Mom was on the runway in Houston, and some reports in the following days mentioned a Delta flight out of Houston as a possibility, but none of that ever gained any steam.  Spent the rest of the day in front of the TV in horror.

ETA: There are American flags everywhere here in NJ today.  I assume it's that way everywhere else, too.

As long as we aren't doing anything.

My dad is semi-pro at darts (really).  He shows up with $18 Academy (off) brand darts and two beers in his belly to every match/tournament.  He called me after his last tourney laughing his ass off because he beat three guys with sponsored jerseys and lost to the eventual winner in the semis.  Walked out of there with a crisp $20 bill and six beers in his belly.

My kind of sport.

I get the feeling that Footer isn't so crazy about Crane / Luhnow / et al.

@alysonfooter: Reading BOS coverage. Seems that by waiting until seasons end to dismiss Valentine, owners/GM are sending message that they share some responsibility for what's happened. Which of course is the right way to do it.

I'm glad she's unleashed.

Yeah, she clearly disagrees with the way they handled Mills (few, if any, understand their timing).  But I think on the whole she thinks it's a good group that will get the ship headed in the right direction (based on her departure comments).

Do you listen to Muse?  I just read an article on them in Electronic Musician and decided to check them out, and iTunes had all 5 of their studio albums for 40 bucks so I bought that...some good shit there.  Very Radioheady with some nice Queen influence mixed in.  Might be nerdy or hipster for all I know, but it's really good stuff.

I have two of their albums - Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations.  I liked them enough, but as a Radiohead nut I could never get over how much the guy's voice sounds like Thom Yorke (or at least Bends-or OKC-era Thom).  Not the guy's fault, or even his intention maybe, but that was my immediate take from it.  They seem to have had a good string of albums though, and they have a pretty fanatical following, so clearly I'm missing something.  Just an admitted bias on my part from the start.  I do love that song "Apocalypse Please" though.  I'll give them a proper listen.  Any favorite tracks/albums of yours?

You're young if you get into that sensitive stuff, wax dramatic over Bon Iver on Letterman, get choked up thinking about the new Grizzly Bear release, etc.

It's a constant effort to expand my musical boundaries.  I'm always looking for more.  I still go back to my classics, yet I know there are plenty of gaps for me to fill from the 50s onward.  But I refuse to listen to the radio, and the local live scene doesn't cut it for me because I'm too busy.  So, rather than revisiting stuff I've heard hundreds of times, I grab whatever's new.

Bon Iver and Grizzly Bear and Beirut and The National and Phoenix and Radiohead and Real Estate and Spoon and Sigur Ros and The Decemberists and Spencer Krug's bands are among the few current acts worth putting any amount of time into, in my opinion.  I try to look for earnest, well-crafted music, regardless of genre or how hard they rock.  It just so happens that there are NO bands out there that make me want to sit in the middle of the room and crank it up to 11.  Nobody makes that kind of music anymore (at least well).  If I want to rock out, I turn to something I've already heard.  But if I want to listen to something I've never heard before, the bands I listed above (and their ilk) rarely do me wrong.

But yeah, the new Grizzly Bear is awesome.  Does this rock?  I know I turn it up as loud as I can.

It got lost along the way somehow, but the truth is pretentious poseur pussies don't generally make good rock 'n' roll. At all.

If it's too quiet, you're too old.

Seriously though, the majority of those bands aren't rock 'n' roll bands.  They're lumped into the "indie rock" genre because, independent label or not, it's too complicated to classify each and every new band.  You won't hear any screaming guitar solos from any of the acts in the article.  And if you're (not you, DS) judging the music by the way they dress or act, you're doomed to think their pretentious poseur pussy music is crap, too.

I have VERY little in common with any of these bands, but I do enjoy a lot of the music in that article.  And I don't enjoy their music because it makes me feel cool or it might get me laid.  I'm about as uncool as it comes, and I'm married, so I don't get laid.

And I write all of this while listening to the new Grizzly Bear album.

This is what I'm talking about. He was crazy as hell but his sort of crazy worked perfectly for him on the field.

I don't remember that series in particular but I do remember very fondly how he stood on top of the plate, especially LH as you mention, and just dared pitchers to back him off.

I'm in the same boat as you guys.  I wasn't aware of his off-the-field antics at the time, but he was an Astro and he could mash.  So I liked him.

This has always baffled me.  I have never enjoyed listening to people blather on endlessly during my morning or afternoon commutes.  Clearly a lot of people do, and good for them, but I just don't get it.  I (used to) turn on the radio to hear MUSIC, not some prank call or whatever.  Sports talk is a different story (no expectation of music), and I only gave that up after I found OWA/SnS.

Asshole.

Not to nitpick fake internet grades, but how does DeShields rate a C+ after the season he's had?  Surely the strikeouts aren't that big of a negative.

I thought that, too, but I think the grades are preseason as well as their ranks:

Quote
13) Nick Tropeano, RHP, Grade C+: 2.78 ERA with 97/26 K/BB in 87 innings in Low-A, 4.64 ERA with 34/13 K/BB in 33 innings in High-A. Velocity boost in pro ball is good to see, and he already knew how to pitch. I'd move him up to a B-.

I rarely log on and most of the time when I try to my computer tells me to check my cookie settings - but - props to limey - my iPad has no problems.  I came back to the states recently and got tickets to a game from my aunt.  She was in Beaumont and normally can't get these tickets but she said I was military and yada yada yada got the tickets - anyways, we are in the diamond club, the kind where you're sitting next to Barbara bush - except I don't really see her at the games anymore.  But around the 4th inning I go to get a new margarita and I turn around and see Jeff freekin bagwell about 3 feet from me at a table talking with someone.  I proceed to freak out and it seems the only words I can say are "holy shit, and Jeff bagwell" but I tell my cousin and the girl I'm on a date with not to bother him and we make it back to our seats and my cousin "goes to the bathroom". She gets back and says that bags wants to see me.  He said thanks for doing the military thing and then he said something about how bad the stros were right now and I started to go into the "Astros are in a better way than they were after 2005" thing and he quickly ended the conversation.  I didn't want to ask about him not being in the booth this year cause I didn't even want to hint at rehab and things of the sort.  But all in all - pretty kick ass game.  And the diamond level is the shit.

Thanks for doing the military thing, and great story.

Seriously?!?  I just don't understand that. There are players on this team worth 'hoping' about.  Seriously, Altuve?!? And ready to give up on JD Martinez as well? I know he's had a shaky 'sophomore season', but writing him off before we see what he does in 2013? I'm not ready to do that.  And while I realize that he'll never be a #1 starter (nor did I really think he would be), Lyles certainly shows flashes of being capable of being a #2 starter.  Does he have stuff to learn and improve on? Hell yes. Then again, THE KID IS 21! There is time. And for that matter, I don't think we've seen nearly enough of Wallace to forever relegate him to scrub (though that might be the case).  Keuchel is what Keuchel is - a 4th or 5th starter and an innings eater.  Not 'something to build a team around', but certainly worth having...  And then there is Castro.  His defense has been an utter disappointment this season, but that has not been his track record prior to this year.  Again, the kid is coming off knee surgery where he missed an entire year.

For me, there are very few kids on the team right now that I think can reasonably be 'written off' before the end of the 2013 season.  At this point we've got a very good idea of what CJ brings to the team, and that doesn't appear to be what you'd want from a 'prototypical MLB 3B'.  And Shreefer.  Wouldn't break my heart to see him DFAd tomorrow.  There are others I'm down on as well.  That said, there is a hell of a lot more reason for optimism for the future of this team than I'd imagine from reading much of the comments around here lately.  Sure they are beyond total suckitutde right now... but... there is hope... Seriously!

Apparently we're drinking from the same Kool-Aid bowl.  But yeah, they suck HARD right now.

I can't say that you're wrong in your assessment, as I agree with most of it. However, when you look at where the new guys are slotting in to the current farm talent pool, it seems to me that filling the place with guys who have a shot at the show is the first place to go. Drayton and Wade left the system so decimated that the farm system was as bad as the parent club, which is unacceptable. I'm with the new regime for now. I have to have faith that they know what they're doing.

With the exception of Cosart and Singleton (two of our top 4 legitimate prospects), I'd agree with this.  But baseball people smarter than myself continue to argue that farm system depth plays a big part in consistent winning.  If you breed a winning attitude in the minors, that might carry over to the bigs.

I'm also of the opinion that at least one of the 13 prospects the Astros just added will be a pleasant surprise.  Don't ask me who that'll be, though.  I'm choosing to adopt a glass half full attitude here because I don't want to have yet another reason to stop watching baseball altogether.

I'm not convinced that the Houston American League franchise will ever reach .500.

Imagine that by the end of 2015 the team is still losing nearly 100 games against teams like the Mariners and Blue Jays and is lucky to draw 12,000 fans. With fewer new fans coming up because of "Late Nite Baseball", Crane may start talking about the need to move the team to "someplace that wants MLB".

I don't wish for it, and I realize there are stadium lease issues and other things, but I still think the team may very well leave Houston before this decade is out.

Based on the current state of the farm system and the guys now running the show (Luhnow), I couldn't disagree more.  But I'm a glass-half-full guy.

Carlos negotiated a contract in which he had the right to veto trades to 14 different teams, and LAD was one of those teams.  Fine, it was his right to do so.  However, the Astros have the right to trade him to 15 other teams and I'd as soon them do so immediately...

I don't dislike Carlos, and like pots I am "not going to rag on the guy, but I'm not backing him either" and am more than ready to see 'the horse' move on to other pastures...

I'm actually in Palo Alto, but I leave tomorrow. I pm'ed Biz last week to ask for good eating spots, completely unaware the Astros were in town. When I eventually found out, I cleared the expenses and bought the tickets. Good thing, too, because the cab fare was outrageous. Arrived SFO at 5:15, cab to Palo Alto to drop off bags, cab to game, then cab back. Over $400 in taxis alone. I wouldn't have gone if I was on the hook for the expenses.

A few observations:

Beautiful park, absolutely gorgeous. Not a big fan of the glove/Coke bottle, but they hardly take away from the experience.

The place was fucking packed. It's amazing to see a fullish house for a Tuesday game against a no-draw opponent in June. The fans were really into the game, but not very baseball-smart (at least around me). Kinda like the Hunter Pences of fans.  The place went apeshit when Belt dropped one in the cove. I put up my horns.

I really thought I could outrun those security guys. The jail has a wine bar.

I'll say it - the garlic fries are waaaaaay too garlicky and soggy. I didn't get thru a quarter of mine. The crab sandwich on sourdough is the way to go.

And I'm not a lawyer, but I do make money off of them.  Next time I'm leaving the shorts at home.

I hate the idea of business casual, even though my current everyday job all but demands it.  More casual at work means even more casual off-duty, which means going to the grocery store like a hobo, and dressing the same for weddings and funerals (which is inevitably insulting to one party or the other). Call it the tyranny of cargo shorts.

So you prefer jackets/suits to business casual, or detest what business casual now means?

Like Christian rock music, it does neither well.

I laughed.

Business casual here, except for court days, which is suit/tie.  Generally slacks and shirt.  Jeans if you've been up all night working, but never sandals (for men).  My biggest departure from the policy lately has been shaving - I always shave for meetings and court days, but if I'm behind my computer all day I let it grow.  Those last-minute meetings can be tricky though.

In the end, Fontana plays the game with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and is the type of player who will get every last ounce out of his natural ability. With his steady play over three years on a big stage at Florida, plus all his intangibles, he represents one of safest selections in this year’s college draft class and could advance quickly to the big leagues.

Current rotation:

Trampled By Turtles - Stars and Satellites
Reminds me of Punch Brothers/Avett Brothers, with a heavy focus on straight bluegrass.  Really good stuff.  Been on repeat for me ever since I got it.

Sigur Ros - Valtari
Less epic, more serene, but every bit as good as their other stuff.  If you like them, you'll like this.

Japandroids - Celebration Rock
Thought their first one was ok, but this one is a big step forward.  Kind of a mix between Fucked Up and Hold Steady, but without the intentionally shitty vocals (I like those bands a lot, too)

Moonface - With Siinai, Heartbreaking Bravery
Spencer Krug teams with Swedish (?) shoegazers Siinai.  It's really good, and really out there.

Still listening to a lot of Daniel Rossen and Julia Holter, too.  Looking around for the new Tallest Man on Earth and any news relating to a new Frightened Rabbit, Phoenix or Grizzly Bear album.  I got the new Walkmen and Lumineers albums, but haven't made the time to listen.

Taking my 2-yr old son to his first ever MLB game tomorrow night (my dad took me to the Dome when I was 2).  Hoping Wandy pitches well and the Astros score a lot of runs in the first 3 innings, because I expect that's about all I'll see.

I know there's a reason I felt the need to post that, but I can't remember what it was.

Congrats JD on the new gig!

In case anyone was wondering how stupid I am -

My second son Max was born Friday (everyone doing great). I decided having two kids under 20 months old wasn't exciting enough, so I took a job in New York and will be moving the whole operation up there this summer.of course, just closed on a house in Dallas at the end of Feb (is anyone looking for a place?)

Holy shit, dude.  That job must be too good to pass up.  Congrats (on the job and Max).
I've done the whole two kids under 20 months thing recently - my advice?  Run.

No BS.  Establish a rapport with the witness, get them used to the fact that you both see things the same way on a lot of issues, and then lead them over into contested waters.  Once people get used to agreeing with someone, they usually will look for a way to continue to agree with that person rather than looking for room to quibble.  Doesn't always work - especially if the witness is adverse - but for people with no real dog in the fight it's a useful strategy.

My favorite depo question/answer has always been:

Q. Please state your name.
A. No.

I just about fell out of my chair laughing. Don't know why, but that always cracks me up.

In the Southern California area there are two separate Fox Sports channels back to back. On one of them they show the Lakers, Dodgers and Kings and on the other one they show the Angels, Ducks and maybe the Clippers.  I don't understand why they don't just do that for Texas.

On Uverse (in Houston) I get FS-Southwest and FS-Dallas, so Astros and Rangers are often run simultaneously.  That it's not offered state-wide is pretty lame.

I think I figured it out.  I enjoy watching this team, win or lose, more than I expected I would.  Sometimes it reads like you don't.

I expect them to play better. It is reasonable to expect a player on a team in the major leagues to continue to get better not just collect a paycheck.

Right.  I expect them to play better, too.  Eventually.  Like you say, it's a process.  But I enjoy they way they play right now, too.

There seems to be something being unsaid here.

Nothing more, nothing less, remember?

Talk Zone / Re: Anyone excited to see Strasburg vs the Astros tonight?

Okay, so let me directly answer what you wrote"

That is insane to say.

I added the emphasis. So you're saying that there is no expectation for them to be good, even though they're major leaguers, so I should join the crowd and say I'm okay with "playing hard and playing close games"... correct?

Again, this is okay for you... I can't change your own attitude about what is acceptable from the team you follow. I don't happen to agree that this sort of high school view of a professional team is commendable.

OK, here goes.
The 2012 Astros, as a whole, do not have the same caliber players as the majority of the rest of the league.  While all great ballplayers in their own right, I don't expect this team to win a lot of games.  I hope management continues to teach and inspire these players to play good, hard, fundamental baseball, though I expect several bumps on the road.

And with all of that said, their play so far this season has been fun to watch, even taking into account the losses in close games.  Because of that, I find myself rooting for this team for reasons other than the fact that I've rooted for this organization my whole life.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Talk Zone / Re: Anyone excited to see Strasburg vs the Astros tonight?
« on: April 17, 2012, 12:55:49 pm »
That's actually quite insane. You should expect them to learn how to play the game, not to just be happy to be in the bigs. My comments are geared towards hoping someone is teaching some good kids with lots of heart to play the game right and do the things they need to do to be better at this game.

That's fine, and I don't think Bench (and I, by agreeing with the bastard) disagree with it.

I understood this:

Bats on either side tend to be slower in April than they are in June/July. So the probability is there that instead of 3-4 deficit comebacks, Houston will be looking at 5-6 runs to overcome.

Not good.

...to mean, "boy, these kids are going to lose a LOT of games this year."  And my response to that is, "at least they're fun to watch."

I think I confused myself with all of this quoting and "quoting."

1476
Talk Zone / Re: Anyone excited to see Strasburg vs the Astros tonight?
« on: April 17, 2012, 11:02:38 am »
Nobody expects them to be good, Noe.  Which is why the fact that they've been playing hard and playing close games is commendable and enjoyable.  Nothing about this team bodes well for the future - we all know that.  Just enjoy competitive play as it happens.

Agree 100%
