Talk Zone / Nugenix
« on: June 23, 2019, 05:01:28 am »
I woke up early this morning in a hotel in buttfuck Kansas on my way west and turned on the tv. Who do I see? Frank fucking Thomas shilling some pills that sound EXACTLY like steroids.

How ironic that with two people that had such similar careers in Bagwell and Thomas that one was in some ways “shamed” in to relative obscurity and the other gets to leer at women while popping a pill ( pahhlease don’t make this a race thing, I won’t have it.) during commercials. Yes, Frank is likely more camera friendly.

So my question is...

Should I order some Nugenix?  Asking for a friend.

Winter is almost over but somehow winter is still coming. I can’t wait for some resolution (however slight it may be) to this decades long story.

I’ve organized a local watch party. Yeah, I’ve gone that far. Fuck it.

Any predictions?

There are too many celebratory posts about that last series. It was meaningless, the Astros played a bad team.

This video was cleansing:

It makes me want to make the perfect frito pie... with my face.

A stadium with a retractable roof is a very special thing to have.

Talk Zone / Vaunting

We all did this together. What a fucking ride.

Where were you? What was your personal experience?

For myself, I had the most trying time of my life starting in late summer. This team was a constant positive influence. This team kept me interested regardless of the results. I couldn't watch every game like I was used to doing but I knew there was something special going on. This result doesn't heal anything... but I was there. It felt amazing. I hope you all had a similar experience. Where were you?

On 11/1 I Vaunted like a motherfucker...

Some two out vaunting by Beltran, Yuli, and Marwin. 3-0 good guys headed to the bottom of the first.

Not sure where to post this but damn...

Nolan Arenado just completed hitting for the cycle by hitting a walk off three run home run off of Melancon.  Can't say I've ever seen that before.

Season 4 episode 9.

If you don't know what I'm talking about or don't give a shit no worries, move along.

Watch (or rewatch) the first 10 minutes. Holy shit. It's like "watching" this forum instead of reading it.

The opposing coach from the "other" tavern is such a Ranger.... not so much a Cardinal, Cub, or a Dodger. Clearly a Ranger (which is a step below the pimply ass of the Reds even...)

The rest of the episode is pretty solid but this one does a great job of representing what happens when one "team" gets inside the other team's head. The Rangers have certainly done that this season (and last) to the Astros. There's no "luck" involved. This current Astro team can't seem to perform like they should in order to belong in the same conversation.

Clearly the Astros need to sign Dianne Chambers to a one year deal. Fucking Luhnow...

For all of you home theater enthusiasts out there, what's your opinion on Dolby Atmos/DTSX? I'm currently mulling over the purchase of a new receiver. It's not crucial that I upgrade but I just have that upgrade itch... Looking at the Marantz line.

Prospect Notes: July 2, Astros, Bell, Draft

If it wasn't already obvious, they look to be making a move this year. I hope the available talent pool reflects the investment. It's a giant swine-orgy from what I can gather.

Baseball is always worth watching regardless of how shitty "your team" is playing.

I love everything about this video. From the best part, which is clearly Vin Scully (I learned more about Jose Fernandez in those few sentences than I ever would anywhere else)... to the sheer enthusiasm for the game Fernandez shows and Maeda throwing a frisbee. Good stuff!

Talk Zone / "Mindset Coach"
« on: October 22, 2015, 07:53:10 pm »
I'd imagine most of you wouldn't think Morgan Ensberg when you think "solid mindset" due to his well discussed issues watching pitches go by. But at least from my little neck-of-the-woods professional career, someone that may have struggled with the "yips" can often be the person that knows the most about avoiding it. I like this.
