If  this  has any truth to it, Tampa could have been the only team that offered him a job.

Ortiz rips him pretty hard. Interesting insight about the Tony Pena situation

That's why you need to go metric. You're only 16 kilograms heavier.

So basically it boils down to your inability to distinguish between "This Astros team is going nowhere"   and "This Astros team will go nowhere"?

OK, I get it. At the time they weren't going anywhere in the future, which doesn't mean that in the future they wouldn't be going anywhere at the time. I think you have a great point there.

I have no problem with Pedro having fun with it. If I ever get picked to the fat alcoholic bastard legends team I'll be wearing the loudest suit I can fit into and whooping and hollering until my lungs pack in. Which won't take long.

Dammit. Why don't they ever do these things on a Saturday or Sunday?

I heard Ozzie chokes chickens as part of his religion. That excites me.

Yeah, I do like a bit of chicken choking.

Doesn't Commander Adama read everything solemnly? It was meant to be a celebration wasn't it? Thought Pedro was having fun.

2)  Uribe's catch in the stands:  How the hell does he get out of the seats with the ball in his glove?  WTF were those people up to?  If I'm there, he's going to have to knock me out to come up with his glove on his hand.

That pissed me off. I was on the other side, by 133, but I'm pretty sure they could hear my assessment. You've got to get in his way there.

They didn't help. Of course there were a lot of pitching changes too. Do Fox take the same amount of time for a pitching change as they do between half-innings?

A thread elsewhere says the four fingers refers to the bench players on the Sox, who've been maligned by their local press and are relegated to few ABs at BP.

Hmm, nope, don't believe them.

I switched to hating them just as soon as all those 4's started flashing in the dugout. Asswipes.

My soccer team in the UK used to hand out vouchers to fans when they entered at every game. Then when a big game came along you had to turn in, say, 5 vouchers at the ticket office to buy a ticket. Probably far too simple a solution for today's high-tech world where everyone wants to buy stuff off the internet, but it worked well back in them days.

Don't worry, I'm using mine, and my buddies ain't going to give me a cent over $51. Although they may buy me a couple of beers. I got four for game 4 with the idea of swapping two for tickets to game 3 or 5, but I know too many deserving fans who just want to be in the building for one game. Couldn't do it to them.

Just picked up my game 4 tickets at Minute Maid. Bunch of scalpers parked outside the Will Call windows down there. Looked like they were holding a bunch of tix, which pisses me off. I thought that if they were on Astros property they were breaking the law?

Anyway, their first, and only, offer to buy my SRO tickets was $250 each, got the feeling they would have gone a lot higher if I had been interested in selling.

A clearly hurting Clemens gives them 3 and they only beat us 5-3? I'm more confident about winning this series after tonight than I was before the game.

Would it cheating to throw Wagner in as your left handed specialist? Don't want him as my closer, and as long as budget's not a consideration...

Talk Zone / TV coverage?

Where  it? Local stations dedicate 6 days of non-stop coverage to a light breeze and the Astros are off the air for Jay fucking Leno in an hour?

Couldn't believe when one of the Fox announcers said Eckstein only had 4 hits in the series (although, I may have been drunk by then and missed it)...seems to me like he had about 24. Same goes for Molina. They're a damn good team.

Don't need Limey, Tony Blair sells those things. We could probably get him one for the price of 12 bottles of St. Arnold Amber.

You know what? He was huge. Had a great play in the field early, was great at the plate. The sentimental side apart, Biggio, as much as anyone dragged us here.
