Talk Zone / Re: I miss the Clarks

I’m still, and probably always will be, a Clark so to appease your desire for Clark-blood I’ll provide the bait.

Hunter Pence rulz!!!!  Ed Wade sux and again proved it by trading my boy to the Phillies, a real team, for nothing.  How many times are the Phils going to hose us?

Who does this “Jim” guy think he is telling me to observe a pitcher’s motion, a batter’s swing, or a fielder’s footwork when ERA, batting average, and zone rating tell me all that I need to know?

Moving to the American League will be *awesome* because we can see the Sawks and Yanks every year, we get a natural rivalry with the Rangers, and, best of all, we finally get to dump bunting strategy for DH power!  It's not like the Astros have a history in the National League or anything.

Billy Spiers is not omnipotent.

You’re welcome.  I’m available to participate in strosrays’ (someone else’s?) 10-point Clark posting destruction upon request.

Oh, wait, one more baiting -->   :)

Talk Zone / Re: broadcast schedule?

If the Astros/Rockets were to sell their rights to a cable provider, I wonder if the cable company would make their net available exclusively on their cable net to pursuade satellite users switching to their service.

This is exactly what Comcast does in the Philadelphia area for Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers games.  The FCC is trying to close the loophole that Comcast uses to prevent satellite companies from broadcasting those games (http://www.philly.com/philly/business/20100121_FCC_ends_Comcast_s_local_sports_monopoly.html), but Comcast isn't going to give up exclusivity without a fight (http://www.philly.com/inquirer/business/20100122_Comcast_to_fight_FCC_ruling_on_sports_telecasts.html).

Ya just don't get it.

Schadenfreude, nothing more.

As a Clark, I must admit that I do enjoy watching a good TZ shock and awe campaign.

Are you really Morgan Ensberg?

Oh wait ... you did connect when you finally swung.

If I change my posting style next time, then you'll know.

Clarkie!  Nice...

Read more, post less.  I've been reading since the Big Freight Train days, so at this rate I'll post again around 2018.

Even ignoring his below average defense and him playing a non-premium position, he does not get on base enough or run the bases well enough to merit discussion as an MVP caliber offensive force.

Neither does Ryan Howard, yet he came within a hair last year of winning the MVP.
