Guess who's back ... Tuve's back
Lineup (https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DKvW9-OXkAANjEx.jpg)
Kemp in center field.
-
What is up with Reddick?
-
What is up with Reddick?
He shows as "eligible" in the lineup card. I wonder if that means he really can play.
-
What is up with Reddick?
Hurt his back on Friday and has sat out 4 of 5 games since. The only game he went for it was Sunday, where he went 0 for 4 with 2 K's. It's not considered something that will keep him out of any playoff games. Still, it'll be good to see him play some in Boston.

I know about the back, but I thought he was ok.

I know about the back, but I thought he was ok.
I had the impression he is. I think Hinch is letting him rest while the team is producing and then will have him hitting against Boston.
-
Hit #200 on the season for Jose Altuve. 4th straight season. Fucking boss.
-
Hit #200 on the season for Jose Altuve. 4th straight season. Fucking boss.
+1
-
Lately I've been amusing myself considering Hudson's assertion that Altuve would hit.400 if he swung only af balls he could actually reach with the bat. That might not be that far from the truth.
-
Well my 1pm meeting that precluded me from going to the game lasted 15 minutes.
Meanwhile my buddy sends me a pic 8 rows back of hone plate. Giving away seats on stub hub.
Oh well.
FTR
-
Top of the 3rd.
2-1 Astros. Verlander touched for solo HR in 2nd.
-
That Calhoun kid was their main return on the Darvish deal.
Speedy outfielder with a big butt. Weird combo.
-
And now he says it's dollar hot dogs.
Shit!
-
Correa slashes a 2-out double down the RF line. Glad to see him starting to get his groove back some. Marwin grounds out to end their top of the 3rd. Still 2-1 Good Guys.
-
another lousy turnout for the game. Looks like alot are Astros fans. They really may regret not switching this series.
-
That Kerry Shook Woodlands church guy, is one weird looking dude.
-
Whataburger is pushing the Pattie Melt. Wish they would bring back the Green Chile Cheeseburger. Best ever.
-
Deshields flies out to LF on a ball that looked like Marwin may have not caught cleanly. Rangers aren't challenging. Guess they are in a hurry to go home.
-
I know about the back, but I thought he was ok.
“He’s wanted to play and we’re being pretty cautious with him," Hinch said before Wednesday afternoon's series finale against the Rangers. "It’s convenient to give him the day off. I want to get Marwin (Gonzalez) in the outfield again because he’s going to play a lot of outfield moving forward. (I’m) getting Tony (Kemp) in the game again. It’s tough to sit him, but it’s probably the prudent thing to do. He should be back in there (Thursday).”

-
Choo K's on a slider that dove at his feet. Awesome pitch.
-
And he gets Mazarra with a similar pitch. On to the 4th...2-1 Houston.
-
Whataburger is pushing the Pattie Melt. Wish they would bring back the Green Chile Cheeseburger. Best ever.
As a big fan of the patty melt, I heartily endorse this sentiment.
-
Every time I look up Yuli is standing on second base.
-
Every time I look up Yuli is standing on second base.
If Beltran is hitting in front of him during the ALDS...
-
2nd hit today, a sgl., by Calhoun. He had the HR. Got a feeling we will be getting tired of this guy over the next several years.
-
Calhoun is built a bit like Kirby Puckett.

Thank you

Hit #200 on the season for Jose Altuve. 4th straight season. Fucking boss.
McTaggart: "Jose Altuve is the only player in Major League history with four separate 200-hit, 40-double, 30-steal seasons."
-
Carlos Correra ties his career high with his 22nd HR
-
Correa!!!! Solo HR down the LF line that he hit off of his hands almost. Great job by Correa of yanking that one. 4-1 Houston.
-
through 4 Verlander with 8ks. I don't see how anyone but he could be #1 starter in the postseason.
And as I write this Drew Robinson hits a solo HR to RF.
4-2 us.
-
If Beltran is hitting in front of him during the ALDS...
If it's an important spot in a post season game I reckon Hinch will pinch run for Beltran. He'll put in someone with a little more speed, someone like Brad Peacock.
-
FO to Springer ends the inning. On to the 6th....4-2 good guys.
-
Some speed on the bases now
-
McCann walks and Beltran singles.....McCann lumbers to 2b. Speed on the bases now!!
Martinez is being lifted with a call to the pen.
-
Some speed on the bases now
A HR could score them both!
-
A HR could score them both!
Yuli would have to hit a homer in order to get another double.
-
Add Yuli to that pair and it will take a homer
-
Yuli walks loading the bases. Kemp slashes first pitch to CF on a line and McCann lumbers in. Bases still jammed with Springer up and no outs. 5-2.
-
Springer Slam!!!!! Made it over the CF wall. 9-2. FTR.
-
Hit the ton out of that ball.
-
Weirdly anti-Kalasian home run call.
-
Totally sucks to have to work while this game is on, but I have it on and was able to catch that grand slam.
-
This is pleasant.
-
Weirdly anti-Kalasian home run call.
The way Deshields tracked it was misleading too
-
This is pleasant.
Yes, yes it is.
-
Totally sucks to have to work while this game is on, but I have it on and was able to catch that grand slam.
My office flooded so I've been working out of our small conference room lately. There's a TV.
0 work done today.
-
I have a feeling everything I've submitted to the OAG will get declined due to an error. Oh well, priorities.
-
I'm not sure what the fuck Bregman was doing. It's really nice seeing Correa heat up.
-
Weirdly anti-Kalasian home run call.
Disagree, it was peak Kalas. Misjudged a fly ball.
And CORREA Homer!
Watching the Rangers get donkey punched is quite enjoyable. Now get all the starters out before Bannister starts having his pitchers star hitting the Astros batters...
-
Karma is a bitch, Rangers.
-
This is a nice way too close out the last series of the year against the Rangers
-
I should have gone to this game. Listening to the fans probably would have been fun.
-
I hope J.D. Davis gets to pitch.
-
A live look at Jon Daniels' office. (http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/275/257/dbc.jpg)
-
Odor with an ole' error on the McCann groundball. Wonder if they miss Kinsler?
-
I kinda hate to see Verlander go back out after sitting so long.
-
What an inning for the good guys! FTR! Say it loud, say it proud!
-
I kinda hate to see Verlander go back out after sitting so long.
He's built to do it. Plus he's still working on his curveball...
-
Watching the game at Whole Foods with dueling broadcasts. I didn't know ESPN had picked it up.
-

God. Damnit.
I've been listening to the shitburger ESPN broadcast this WHOLE DAMN TIME.
-
God. Damnit.
I've been listening to the shitburger ESPN broadcast this WHOLE DAMN TIME.
That's tragic. Plus, the ESPN feed is noticeably behind compared to AT&T Sports.
-
Nothing wrong with Verlander staying in to strike Odor out again...
-
My buddy moved up to row 5 or so behind the plate.
He's wearing any orange jersey, his wife is wearing a white sweater thing.
The bar I just left had the ATT, FSW, and espn broadcasts up on various screens.
A little disorienting.
-

Calhoun came through the Dodgers' system as a 2nd baseman.
-

It should be on every television network with the scroll at the bottom saying "See what happens Jon. This is what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass."

Thanks for the update.

37-7 as it stands. That's a steaming pile of regret, I'd say.
-
Odor with an ole' error on the McCann groundball. Wonder if they miss Kinsler?
Chicks dig the long ball. Gotta have Prince Fielder, right?
-
This is deeply satisfying. I was against moving the team to the AL, but if they wanted to create a rival that I would hate more than the Phillies, Mets, Braves, Dodgers, Cubs and Cardinals combined: mission accomplished. Between Hamels, Bannister, Odor and Gomez and the odious Metroplex and bandwagon fan base, last year hit me hard. Not gonna lie-
their comeuppance this series has been sweet.
Also, it's great that so many different hitters seem to be getting right just in time for the playoffs!
-

Wonder if they regret signing Odor to a 6 years/$49.5M (2017-22) deal. Well, one time he punched another player (https://imgur.com/ltPnwzu).
-
Liriano in September: 2.08 ERA, .737 WHIP, .133 avg against.
And yes, I waited until he was out of the game to post this.

+1.
Especially Correa. Having him and Verlander on fire together is fun to watch.
-
Only 1 team in the 55 seasons of Houston MLB won at least 98 regular season games, before this year.
-

He has regressed in every category except home runs. There has to be some second guessing.
-
Fuck the Rangers right in the fucking ear. Karma. And what a way to end the game.
-
How's that shitburger taste, Daniels?
-
Mostly Astros fans behind home plate as the game ends.
-
How's that shitburger taste, Daniels?
At least they didn't inconvenience their fans by playing this week.

Laughable

And Will Middlebrooks gestures at Tony Sipp like Sipp broke some unwritten rule about letting runners get untested huge leads late in blowouts. Must have missed that one.

Well fuck, best series of the season and I didn’t see a minute of it. I got some catching up to do…

The Astros sweep guarantees a Rangers losing season.

Both at age 34. Johnson had won 133 games before joining the Astros and 170 after. Verlander with an additional 2 years in the majors had 183 wins prior to joining the Astros and at 4 and counting after.

My favorite has always been the chop house cheddar burger. I guess I'm alone in that because they haven't had it in a long time.

You misunderstand. He was implying the blowout wins in this series could be directly related to your viewing absence. Something something about respecting a streak, take one for the team, and, oh yeah, don't forget to breathe through your eyelids.

Ok, there you go. Not to sure how the actions of a random bloke who lives 10, 500 miles away affects the outcome of a game but let me know what I have to do to make us win. As long as it doesn't involve frito pies, pretty sure they don't exist in Perth.

Never underestimate the power of the BBGs. They must be appeased.
You can make your own frito pie.

Is there no place there in Australia where you can buy canned chili? How about chili powder?

That Big Unit won 170 games after age 34 is mind-blowing to me.

Makes you wonder how a guy could just keep getting better at an age when most humans begin to decline. I guess it's just good genes, diet, and exercise.

I'd settle for 160 over the next 4 years.

Thanks for that. I have three brothers who are all serious Rangers fans. They are very frustrated with the Astros this season--used to count on Houston to be their back up date when they couldn't score a win elsewhere. So very nice to disappoint them. When the Astros and the Rangers finally both have a good team we are going to have an epic rivalry. Looking forward to it.

You are too nice. I hope the Rangers never win another game.

Yes and yes, I am not much of a chilli guy though.

You must learn. There is no I in Team.

There are, however, two I's in chili.
