I think this deal is a pretty good benchmark for the Astros to use with Huff.  Not saying offering him the same deal, but Nomar is alot closer to Huff than Soriano is.

I did not know Garciapara was only 33. It seems like I have been watching him do that damn batters box ritual forever.

If he remains healthy, that deal will look like a bargain.

The Dodgers probably had a clause in their contract with their health insurer allowing them to re-sign Nomar only if Drew walked.

Thats a better risk than knowing that Soriano will still be on the books for 17 mil per when he is 38 and 39.
